Where?

Wrist Shared Services is looking for a General Accounting (GA) Team Lead who will be leading the General Accounting and/or related accounting functions. You are expected to have in-depth knowledge of General Accounting systems, processes, principles, and policies, and experience in developing and implementing GA best practices. As the GA Team Lead, you will work with local business teams and the General Accounting team in Manila to ensure the execution of required tasks efficiently at the required quality level.

What you'll be doing:

• Manage, monitor, and perform day-to-day processing of general accounting transactions.
• Monitor collection and cash application-related metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for operational decision-making.
• Continuously improve General Accounting process through standardization and automation initiatives to ensure team, tools, and processes are supporting and enabling the Company’s growth.
• Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with and adherence to internal controls policies, and procedures.
• Resolve, communicate, and escalate issues to the Regional Process Owner and/or Head of Finance (WSC)
• Develop, evaluate, and provide regular and routine feedback to team members regarding performance, service levels, and KPIs.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders and ensure effective communication is maintained within the team and externally.
• Coordinate with other units/departments to facilitate requests, and resolve workflows or production issues.
• Meet the Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements and performance metrics established.
• The GA Team Lead will work with:
  • Local business teams
    • Work with Accounts Receivable Regional Process Owners for Europe & WNA on a day-to-day basis to ensure prioritization and timely delivery of required tasks
    • Escalate issues of concern to General Accounting Regional Process Owners for Europe, WNA, ME, and Asia
  • Accounts Receivable Analyst
    • Set KPIs, monitor the performance of direct reports, and provide coaching on accomplishing goals
    • Direct the GA team, overseeing staff assignments, training, workload evaluation, and daily processing
    • Investigate escalated issues and concerns and resolve with respective teams
    • Performs personnel responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and planning resource needs within the unit to ensure the most qualified candidates are selected

What we're looking for:

• Minimum 5-8 years of years relevant work experience in General Accounting or related accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in a related accounting field or equivalent experience
• Effective written & verbal communication
• Strong attention detail and commitment to quality
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
• Motivated, self-directed and able to work under pressure and simultaneously manage numerous deadlines
• Ability to multi-task, manage multiple demands, establish priorities and effective time management
• Strong interpersonal skills and credibility
• Ability to motivate/ manage staff and develop interactive working relationships
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics AX2012 ERP will be an advantage

• Statutory Accounts Preparation for small businesses including Sole Trader, Partnerships and Limited Companies on Sage Cloud Accounting software.
• Preparation of Tax Returns, including Self Assessment Tax Returns and Corporation Tax Returns.
• Assistance with some bookkeeping and VAT return preparation tasks.
• Assistance with reviewing a more junior staff member’s work and raising review points for them to make any necessary corrections.
• Organizing emails and folders

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or any accounting related courses
• Excellent in English communication
• UK accounting qualification/experience is a must
• Good understanding of debits and credits
• Being able to prepare and process year end journal adjustments, including:

• Recognition of accruals and prepayments
• Correcting control account differences
• Understanding the components of a UK tax calculation, including which expenses to be added back and capital allowances
• Has good logic and problem solving abilities

The role will be responsible for supporting end-to-end project accounting life cycle activities for assigned accounts and projects. The role will be involved with stakeholder coordination to execute processes that will drive the completion of assigned projects.

Responsibilities: 

• Perform moderately complex tasks that support multiple and varied projects in compliance with the contract, service level agreement, define methodologies, and procedures
• May need to provide guidance to junior members of the team
• Reviews project financials for accurate revenue recognition
• Perform in-depth project analysis and provide recommendations based on findings
• Provide analysis, resolutions, and recommendations for moderately complex process improvements and technical issues through existing technical procedures and methodologies
• Support the Team Lead/Manager in handling escalations and managing disputes related to project financials
• Maintains and prepares SOP/DTP of current processes and the incorporate documentation updates
• Participate in audit-related activities and prepare audit responses
• May support junior members of the team in addressing routine issues within the assigned processes
• Propose alternatives in identified issues and assist in investigating and in resolving common and unusual issues
• Contribute specialized expertise to different assigned projects and may provide key updates to Team Lead and Manager
