We are looking for a dynamic and engaging Senior Accountant for an opportunity to join an industry-leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier focused on partnering with Reinsurers, MGAs/Program Administrators, and Insurtechs.

We provide access to commercial and personal lines utilizing our admitted and non-admitted capabilities across all 50 states. You would join a deeply experienced and broadly talented operating team where your experience and drive will become instrumental in further growing our business.

In addition to the day-to-day coordination of activities related to internal and external functions supporting the finance department this position is also responsible for but are not limited to the following:

The Senior Accountant will perform all aspects of reinsurance accounting.

• Payments of deposit premium for XOL treaties
• Quarterly financial ceded premium on XOL treaties - GNWP & GNEP Basis
• XOL treaty True-up calculations
• GL reconciliation - (Premiums Payable XOL) for quarterly close including commentary and each treaty reviewed quarterly
• GL reconciliation - (Premiums Payable QS) - review list of treaties quarterly working to verify accuracy
• QS accounts - Rending and settlements along with applying cash call credits
• Assistance with collateral review and requests - annual process
• LOC maintenance (increases and decreases required)
• Collaborating with appropriate stakeholders for operational set-up of new reinsurance treaty, captive or facultative agreements
• Special reporting required with affiliates
• Facultative loss calculations – financial closings and management reporting

The Reinsurance Accountant will assume responsibility all aspects of accounting for assigned reinsurance contracts. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Verification of underwriting data for quota share and/or excess of loss contracts
• Maintain the accuracy of premium information on excess of loss contracts including endorsements, premium adjustments, and cash allocations
• Maintain all aspects of quota share programs including bordereau reporting and posting, claims payments and cash allocation
• Monitor, and maintain within 90-day threshold, aging of accounts receivable
• Liaise with brokers, claims department and underwriting department regarding queries, outstanding receivables, and premium adjustments
• Complete underwriting system monthly close including testing of system accuracy for hand off to financial reporting team (ARL and Somers
• Additional projects and ad hoc duties as required
• Work with financial reporting team to investigate/ explain movements for the quarterly reserve call with senior management
• Attend QCR meetings and follow up investigation and liaising with various teams to report findings to UW in a timely manner for the quarterly closes

We are in the process of hiring a Claims Accountant to join our team in Manila, Philippines. This role is pivotal in maintaining service fee payments up to date, bank accounts reconciled, recoveries and escrow processed. As a Claims Accountant, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities, including general accounting tasks such as accounting reports, journal entries, and reconciliations. This role is set within the industry and offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment.

• Process service fee rates update and service fee payment. 
• Prepares accounting reports for various accounting divisions in Arch.
• Prepare reclass journals entries.
• Perform bank reconciliations to verify the Third-Party Administrator’s bank balance against Arch balance.

The Sr. Accountant will prepare workpapers, journal entries, and reconciliations for selected programs. The senior accountant will have ownership over the economics for their select programs ensuring accuracy.

• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• Prepare and monitor program economics for select programs including monthly program entries, reconciliations, and cash application.

• Treasury Accounting – debt and interest, hedging, cash reconciliations, dividends

• Holding Companies Accounting – accounting for tax-related and purchase accounting entities
• US Ledger Accounting – shared accounting for certain activities of US and Mexico-based businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the monthly corporate close and consolidation process, including cash, prepaids, fixed assets, leases, accruals/reserves, debt, allocations, insurance, and equity.
• Prepare certain journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analytics.

Senior Accountant

Main Accountabilities

Assist with preparation of month-end accounts for head office and portfolio companies

• Assist with the preparation of month-end accounts for head office and portfolio companies including collation and input of portfolio company TB’s

• Possess a sound understanding of, and exposure to, Accounting Standards namely AASB 116 Property, Plant & Equipment; AASB 16 Leases; and AASB 138 Intangible Assets.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong computer skills
• Experienced in using Xero, MYOB Advanced and Netsuite (preferred)
