ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished. There are many necessary activities to satisfy any of the following performance guidelines.

Projects / Responsibilities:

• Perform basic accounting duties such as bookkeeping of transactions with specific vendor categories and bank transactions, bank reconciliations of the company’s banks, update of accounts statements, monitoring of vendors’ balances and relevant accruals performing monthly reconciliations.

• Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data. Maintains database by entering, verifying, and backing up data.

• Input accounting data into the accounting system with speed and accuracy, including AP bills and credit card statements. 

• Resolve day-to-day issues.

• Address and respond to suppliers’ daily inquiries and issues.

• Support ERP reporting in regards to budget and financial statements; 

• Participate in the analysis of financial results; 

• Deliver Ad hoc requests and participate in projects when requested; 

• Cooperate with the team for the timely and accurate monthly reporting; 

• Assisting the Controller with external audits PBC’s  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Finance/ Accounting
• 2-3 years of combined financial reporting/accounting experience in a relevant position in a corporate environment
• Basic knowledge of USGAAP; 
• Excellent working knowledge of MS Office and particularly Excel
• Proficiency in Quickbooks Online is a must. 
• Highly analytical, detail oriented and proven ability to manage new ideas and creative solutions.

Position: Financial Analyst

About the company:

The client is a family-owned e-commerce business selling metal pill cases. The business was started in December 2021 and has been run by two brothers since then from Washington, DC.

Our mission is to make exceptional pill cases and provide exceptional customer service. We have committed to these principles by keeping our fulfillment operation in-house and providing white-glove service to our customers.

After 2 years - we are now selling several thousand pill cases per month and looking to expand our Philippines-based team beyond customer service.

The Finance portion of this role (75%) will involve bookkeeping, accounting, financial reporting, and inventory planning. The Operations portion of this role (25%) will involve inventory purchasing and inventory management assisting the US-based team. 

Key Responsibilities:

The primary definition of this role is that you will be doing whatever the business needs most related to Operations and Finance. We are a startup and it is an all-hands-on-deck mentality. The tasks below are examples of the work that you will be expected to know already or learn very quickly.

Finance / Accounting (75%)

• Review transactions in Quickbooks, categorize them
• build rules to auto-categorize them to increase role efficiency 
• Quickbooks is expected to be fully up to date on a 1-day lag / daily basis
• Keep financial models, budgets and projections up to date
• Accessing sensitive financial data, reporting directly to CEO with daily business financial health reports

Operations (25%)

• Take current inventory numbers from Shopify, and update them in Quickbooks
• Take inventory delivery schedules and use it to update our payment schedules to suppliers
• Take payment invoice from supplier, check it against quotes, save data and documents, approve for payment
• Save all documents related to inventory purchasing

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

Your technical experience should include:

• Experience as a D365 F&O or AX Consultant in implementation or support.
• Up to date D365 MSFT certifications 
• Knowledge / experience with Project Accounting / Services Industry.
• Accounting background a plus.
• Strong knowledge of business processes.
• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in business-related field (preferred).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to learn and be challenged.
