About the role:
As a Technical Solution Consultant you will work with leading edge technology as you build innovative fintech products that change the way the world pays, banks and invests. Purpose of the role

The Database Administrator will assist the database operations team in the implementation, configuration, security, maintenance, and performance tuning/monitoring of the Amadeus database tier as assigned.

The focus of this role is to ensure the availability and performance of existing and future enterprise applications using Oracle, MySQL, Mongo, Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres and other emerging database technologies. You will partner closely with cross functional teams that include Development, Product and Architecture to ensure delivery of our applications at the highest level of quality and performance.

In this role you'll:

• Plan, document, allocate, install, and configure database servers (with appropriate patch level and within current security standards) with a strong emphasis on high availability and fault tolerance and disaster recovery including multi-site high-availability as required.                              

• Plan, create, implement, monitor, and maintain backup solutions via automation, as well as perform backup restore validation tasks.                 

• Design, build, maintain database monitoring solutions for 100's of databases in the multiple terabyte range across data platforms.                   

• Manage databases through phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from development through critical Production systems. Manage and create standards, procedures, and policies for governing database environments                                         

• Provide escalation support, troubleshooting and resolution assistance, and performance tuning aid for the platform and operational database teams.

• May perform other duties as requested or assigned.

About the ideal candidate:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business. Will accept equivalent related work experience for the right candidate.

• 2-4 years’ experience working with Oracle database technologies, such as Oracle 12c/19c, GoldenGate, and Exadata, in a critical, highly available enterprise operation.

The Technology Support team is the first point of contact for all Incidents and Service Requests, through tickets, phone, or onsite support. • Provides input into and supports the execution of operations management, service management, environment management, security, and project management methodologies & processes, incident and change control processes, release management, testing, documentation development and maintenance, monitoring, data management, environment maintenance, solution enhancements, and solution development.  
• Identifies, understands, and plans for organizational and human impacts of systems, and ensures business requirements are properly documented and integrated with existing processes, services, solutions, and skill sets.  
• Develops, documents, and revises environment or solution operations procedures, tests, and quality standards and functions.  
• Creates and updates communications and incident management activities to streamline ticket resolution.  

• Assists or leads the troubleshooting and resolution of issues, such as application, data synchronization, system integration, and performance incidents.  

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering.  
• Ability to understand and successfully employ networking, storage, operating system virtualization, and integration solutions and services, and utilize appropriate environments (e.g. Test, Staging, and Production) in support of assigned responsibilities.  
• Ability to resolve technical problems and innovate more efficient use of IT resources.  
• Knowledgeable in Kubernetes and Docker is a must 
• Experience with AWS and on prem Virtualization
