Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Tax Analyst located in Makati City, Philippines.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Ensures that Chevron Holdings Inc Complies with Existing Tax Rules & Regulations:
- Handles corporate annual & quarterly income tax return preparation:
- Handles output VAT computation and provides guidance in the VAT return preparation;
- Provides sound tax advice and consultation to cases requiring tax law interpretation;
- Explores tax-saving opportunities for the company through research & study;
- Updates the company of newly issued tax rules and regulations;
- Maintains and supervises tax compliance control for company operations;
- Remediates identified potential tax exposures and mitigates any tax losses;
- Assists in handling urgent invoice payments by providing tax review of transactions;
- Conducts knowledge sharing sessions on areas that needs further tax guidance.
- Provides reply to Decision Support and Reporting (DSR) queries and requirements related to tax
- reporting
- Ensures that related process controls are observed
- Handles tax audits
Handles and/or Reviews Tax Refund Initiatives:
- Monitors timeliness and quality of tax refunds;
- Performs analysis of success rate of tax refunds;
- Consolidates administrative requirements and submits the documents to the tax authorities;
- Ensure that all requirements are properly complied with.
- Coordinates with tax counsels of the VAT refund status and agreed corporate strategy
- Ensure that related process controls are observed
- Accounts Reconciliation Reporting System (ARRS):
- Performs monitoring of Balance Sheet Accounts Reconciliation to ensure an updated and accurate reporting of account balances and highlights items that require prompt settlement/clearing;
- Prepares the Quarterly Reconciliation Report (Open Items) and the Summary of Unreconciled Accounts as needed.
- Ensure that related process control are observed
Other administrative tasks:
- Participate and collaborate in corporate initiatives/conferences
- Participate in special projects and/or staff meetings
- Prepare and make presentations to senior management
- Participate in professional development activities (e.g. training and interacting with industry counter parts, etc.)
- Manage relationships with external services providers, other business units, and/or vendors
- Coordinate execution of service agreements with clients
- Handle renewal or updating of ERP permits from the BIR
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree major in Finance, Business, Accounting, and related courses.
Demonstrated experience and background in Finance, Accounting, and/or Audit work
Effective communicator and able to build relationships with various stakeholders and teams
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Innovative and has passion for learning digital tools and technologies
Experience and knowledge in digital tools and other technology systems is an advantage
