JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepares periodic report such as: Quality Gate Reject, Subcon Score Card, MRB hold lots, CAR/8D, CAT’s, Trends and other applicable quality monitoring report
• Communicates issues, concerns and information to appropriate team either internal or external.
• Conducts training or refresher on defect criteria to AMPI operators and inspectors regarding inspection (visual/electrical) requirement as part of their certification to ensure high quality inspection. This includes Subcontractors if applicable.
• Coordinate with the Training System Core Group (TSCG) on any changes that needs to be implemented to ensure effectiveness of the certification process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

2. Perform mechanical calculations

• Conduct mechanical calculations to determine factors such as pipe flow, pump selection, and the performance of various mechanical equipment, including shafting and rudders.

3.  Prepare requisitions and provide technical support

• Collaborate with other team members to prepare requisitions for equipment, materials, and components needed for the projects.
• Provide technical support to the team and production staff, addressing design-related queries, clarifications, and troubleshooting issues that may arise during the construction phase.

4. Coordinate with Production and Supply Chain Management

• Work closely with these teams to ensure that the design specifications are effectively translated into the manufacturing process.
• Provide necessary inputs, address design-related challenges, and support the production team to ensure seamless integration between design and construction.

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in Aluminium or Steel shipbuilding projects.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and design skills to meet vessel specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Good understanding of classification society and flag rule requirements.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D design software such as AUTOCAD and NAVISWORKS.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, to effectively coordinate with design, production, and project teams.
• Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and experience with calculations using Excel.

Desirable:

• Experience in aluminum shipbuilding.
• Licensed Philippine Mechanical Engineer.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Naval Architect, you take on a leadership role in shaping the design and development of ferry/ship projects. You will be responsible for overseeing naval architecture and structural calculations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications. Additionally, you will provide technical support to the Structural Design Team, supervise a team of designers, and collaborate with various departments to ensure project success.  RESPONSIBILITIES

• Take full ownership of the naval architecture and structural calculations, ensuring adherence to flag regulations, classification societies' guidelines, and technical specifications. Your expertise will contribute to meeting project schedules and staying within allocated design budgets.
• Independently perform design tasks and calculations, leveraging your proficiency in naval architecture principles. Your ability to effectively solve problems and make sound design decisions will be instrumental in delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Generate comprehensive and detailed design deliverables, including accurate drawings, reports, and relevant structural documentation. Your work will communicate design concepts effectively and contribute to the seamless progression of the project.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

• Proficient in AutoCAD, and preferably STRAND (or other Finite Element Analysis package) and Maxsurf.
• Experience in supervising teams.
