Position: Legal Assistant

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 48hrs/week EST (TBD with client)

Salary Range: 1000 – 1200 USD

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist paralegals and legal officers in their daily tasks and assignments
• Draft, review, prepare, and process legal documents efficiently and accurately
• Summarize medical records, create treatment/event timelines, and develop chronological medical summaries
• Complete application forms and submit them for review by the Supervisor
• Handle the filing of legal documents with U.S. government agencies
• Keep clients informed by monitoring and coordinating the status of filed applications and providing regular updates
• Establish and maintain organized client records and files
• Conduct legal research to support case-related tasks and assignments
• Undertake other job-related duties as they arise from time to time

• A fast and reliable internet connection (at least 100 mbps)
• Working back-up internet connection (mobile data not included)
• In-home office setup including Windows Computer (including webcam) with the most recent version of MS Office installed (all programs; Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• No less than 8 GB RAM
• Minimum of Intel Core i5 processor or equivalent.
• Adobe Acrobat Pro or any PDF editor
• Note: Mac does not support some of the required applications needed for the role

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant fields preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in using office software and legal research tools.
• Willing to stay in the company for 3 years or more

Salary: P800/hour to P1000/hour (Hourly Package)

Schedule: Any day - 3days/week; 6hrs/day (between 09:00 AM - 06:00 PM AEST)

Skills Required:

• Understanding of Contract and Document
• Experience with Evidence Preparation and Summarization
• Experience in Scheduling and Calendar Management
• Experience using a Document Management Software
• 1 year experience in managing motor vehicle collision claims in Qld
• 2 years' experience in civil litigation in the Qld jurisdiction

Nice to Have:

• Insurance companies experience
• Law Firm Experience
• Financial Industry experience
• Bachelor's degree in legal studies or a related field

What will you do?

• Gather, organize, and prepare evidence to support claims and legal proceedings.
• Prepare concise and clear summaries of evidence for legal and administrative purposes.
• Engage directly with clients aiding and maintaining high level of professionalism in all communications.
• Assist with the team in filing necessary court documents, communication with beneficiaries and managing probate process.
• Manage schedules, including court dates, client meetings and deadlines to ensure efficient time management and case progression.
