Strategic Analytics is a growing team at Arch. The team develops innovative predictive models and analytical tools to improve profitability and growth. This position will help support the data engineering needs across a growing portfolio of high-profile analytics projects by developing complex data structures and pipelines leveraging a diverse set of tools and languages. This includes the following cloud based technologies: Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Python and Azure Data Factory. As a key member of the Strategic Analytics team, you will advance our data engineering capabilities helping the team analyze data faster. 

• Work closely with predictive modelers to assemble large, complex data sets that help solve business problems and increase profitability
• Perform data manipulation and transformation using SQL and Python
• Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes and optimizing data pipelines
• Discover and explore new sources of data with curiosity and creativity
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
• Author detailed and comprehensible documentation of data pipelines and technical solutions
• Ensure data quality and completeness

• This position reports to the Junior Operations Executive, its equivalent if not higher, within the Oil, Gas and Chemicals (OGC) business line.

Scope of role

As a Lead Software Engineer will ensure that OP5 Monitor meets the needs of the current customer base from a technical perspective. This will include understanding the product and ensuring any changes are consistent with the architecture.You will report to the Engineering Manager - Infrastructure Monitoring in our UK office, whilst managing a local team of engineers in our Makati office. The wider Engineering team is a global team with main hubs in Manila, Sweden, Spain, UK and North America.

The Makati office is growing and we are looking for Engineers that want to be part of a successful team building software products and working with the latest technologies.

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:

• Lead a small cross functional team using Agile KanBan framework 
• Maintenance of all backend components written in C, C++, Go and Python 
• Oversight of the OP5 Monitor product architecture 
• Work with the Product Owner to agree priorities of work in the backlog 
• Work with our support team and customers to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues and improve the product 
• Provide support to other members of the team

• 5 years experience with the majority of the following languages; C, C++, Go, Python and PHP 

• Experience working with MySQL 
• Experience working with GIT 
• Experience with RESTful Services and APIs 
• Advanced Linux especially RHEL, systemd and RPM packaging  
• Knowledge of CI systems such as Buildbot and GoCD 
• Business level oral and written English 
• Interaction with open source communities and contribution to open source projects (desirable)
• Comfortable in using several open source technologies and tools 
• Experience working in Agile environments (SCRUM, JIRA, KanBan) 
• Experience of IT infrastructure monitoring or management (desirable)
• Knowledge of Nagios or Naemon
