SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

As the Director of Global Procurement Purchasing, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end process of purchase order (PO) generation, processing, and delivery management to ensure the timely and accurate fulfillment of procurement requests. You will lead a team to optimize purchasing workflows, ensure compliance with organizational policies, and collaborate with suppliers to guarantee the on-time delivery of goods and services. A focus on process automation, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration will be key to success in this role. This role will manage a team of approximately 25 buyers, with 3 direct reports.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Oversee PO Processing Operations: Lead the procurement team in the efficient processing of purchase orders from requisition to order fulfillment. Ensure that all POs are accurately and timely processed within the procurement system, maintaining compliance with company policies.

• Develop and Implement PO Policies and Procedures: Create, implement, and monitor PO processing guidelines to standardize practices across the organization. Ensure policies are compliant with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

• Supplier Relationship Management: Work closely with the sourcing team and key suppliers to manage the fulfillment process. Address any issues related to pricing discrepancies, quality concerns, or delivery failures.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with finance, legal, sourcing, and operations teams to ensure that all PO-related activities align with organizational goals and budgets. Ensure a smooth handoff of goods and services post-delivery.

• Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of buyer, providing guidance on PO management, system use, and best practices. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and process optimization.

• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all PO activities comply with internal controls, legal requirements, and financial policies. Proactively manage risks associated with PO fulfillment, including potential delays, pricing changes, and contract compliance issues.

• Vendor Performance Tracking: Work with the sourcing team to evaluate supplier performance based on delivery timeliness, quality of goods, and compliance with contractual obligations. Use performance data to inform future purchasing decisions and improve vendor relationships.

1.    Purchase needs and meet orders, gather information about the market, manage relationships with vendors, and ensure that purchases are made on time by placing orders with vendors.
2.    In line with the standards and procedures identified by the facility and the Head Office, carry out all purchases related to the facility in coordination with the Purchasing Department and monitor, plan and deliver them on time and according to budgetary discipline.
3.    Gather quotes from companies for all supplies that enter the facility.

5.    Prepare lists of approved suppliers.
6.    Collect orders from the departments and ask for written quotes from companies. Submit the top three quotes that are compatible with the policy.
7.    Organise the drivers and vehicles for purchasing and administrative purposes.
8.    Control the invoices and waybills for goods purchased from other companies and organisations.
9.    Control whether the goods received from the companies comply with the required quality standards. Contact companies that have not delivered goods with the required quality standards and ensure that the proper quality goods are delivered.
10.    Ensure that employees in the Purchasing Department work in a coherent and systematic manner.
11.    Organise periodic department meetings.
12.    Identify the training needs of the department’s employees and offer in-house and external training opportunities.
13.    Motivate employees by creating an appropriate environment physically, socially and psychologically in the department.
14.    Attend training programmes for the management team.
15.    Maintain good relationships will all department managers.
16.    Ensure that all official documents are filed and maintained in an orderly manner.
17.    Establish good relationships with service and product providers.

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for carrying out the daily purchasing processes for Abbott Rapid Dx North America or Abbott Rapid Dx , LLC, ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of company materials and services. Duties and Responsibilities

• Advance perform the daily purchasing processes for stocked items (with an MRP evaluation as needed), nonstocked items, capital equipment and services

• Review and maintain purchasing contingencies to ensure continued supply of product

• Ensure contractual obligations are implemented, maintained and compliant
