The Company Nurse renders basic nursing intervention and assists the Health Specialist in initiating and implementing health programs and learning sessions.  He/She serves as the primary first aider to all employees during emergency related cases and to ensure immediate relief of pain and anguish to employees who encounter accidents within Pilmico Foods Corporation compound.

Employees Health

1. Provides assistance on emergency care of first aid to employees of the plant when necessary during his/her shift.
2. Provides basic treatment and procedures like wound dressing, vital signs, medicine administration,  etc.during his/her shift.
3. Assists the Health Specialist in maintaining and updating employees' health records.
4. Assists the Health Specialist in conducting lectures and programs on health and family planning, responsible parenthood and family welfare.
5. Assists the Health Specialist in coordination with Team Leaders, schedules annual physical and dental examination of employees and monitors progress of employees in relation to the APE result.
6. Facilitates pre-employment medical examination. Endorses PEME results to Company Physician for final evaluation.
7. Verifies Philhealth documents (CSF and Certification of Remittances) for employees who are admitted in the hospital. 
8. Assists Health Specialist on evaluating and filing the medical certificates and accident reports of employees. 
9. Assists in Reviewing all medicine and hospitalization payments and reimbursement of employees and forwards to HR for processing of payments.
10. Conducts visitation of partners who are hospitalized.
11. Assists Company Doctor in the performance of his/her duty. Assists in the fitness and health evaluation of personnel.
12. Assists the Health Specialist in the implementation of the vaccination program of the Company which includes dependents of personnel.
13. Monitors and maintains company medicines and clinic supplies.
14. Assists the Health Specialist in proposing and implementing activities/programs related to occupational health and wellness of the company.
15. Assists the Health Specialist in monitoring health conditions of employees performing critical work assignments and in conducting work related risk assessments with health and safety personnel.
16. Assists the Health Specialist in conducting Random Drug tests on identified regular employees and contractor employees as well.
17. Sits as a member of the Safety and Health Committee of the company.
18. Conducts daily roving during his/her shift and submits weekly reports to Health Specialist.

Others

1. Assists the Health Specialist in preparing for health and safety reports as per required by Department of Labor and Employment and other related government agencies.

2. Assists the Health Specialist in the documentation and effective implementation  of ISO/HACCP/5S/GMP procedures and guidelines concerning health.

3. Participates in programs involving improvements and innovations in areas of quality, efficiency, proficiency, sanitation, food safety, environment, waste reduction, sustainability, social responsibility and all other activities of the Company.

4. Assists the Health Specialist in checking compliance of contractor employees on their annual physical examination.

5. Performs other tasks as may be directed by immediate superior.

• Act as one of the focal members of the Consumer Intelligence and Consulting Group – primarily Research Operations
• Provide support and assistance with the management of research projects across industries
• Serve as the quality checking (QC) champion to ensure adherence with GfK and global research standards

Job Description

The Company Nurse’s role is designed to provide health care to employees. Its objective is to provide education and training programs to employees about health and wellness.

A SNAPSHOT OF THE ROLE

Clinical

• Takes vital signs of a patient employee who come for consultation such as taking their temperature and blood pressure, monitor and record their health condition.
• Assist the Doctor during consultation hours
• Prepares and administers first aid medicines to patient employee to treat them of his illness
• Administers first aid treatment on illness or accident before referring the employee to the hospital for further medical treatment
• Plans and recommends sufficient stocks of first-aid medicines and reasonable acquisition of necessary medical equipment and kits on a regular basis
• Coordinates with emergency personnel and hospital and other if emergency hospitalization is needed
• Provides health counseling on patient employee’s health needs as necessary
• Conducts home visit as necessary
• Observes patient confidentiality at all times

Reports

• Sends clinic report to patient employee’s supervisor and/or manager after every clinic visit
• Maintains and updates database of medicines procured and dispensed and ensures no discrepancy
• Maintains and updates report of sickness and injuries in the workplace
• Maintains, updates, and sends trackers and reports on a regular basis
• Prepares and submits Government mandated reports such as but not limited to WAIR, AEIDR, AMR

Administrative

• Updates patients' profile by recording the diagnostic treatment performed to ensure precise patient treatment and medical record.
• Conducts in-depth investigation reports in support to employees' claims on cases of work-related injuries.
• Verifies the authenticity of submitted medical documents
• Assists other Compensation and Benefits personnel in doing and managing administrative works and other company related clinical duties.
• In charge of site implementation of the Company’s health and wellness programs
• Ensures the strict implementation and adherence to the Code of Conduct and other corporate policies
• Performs other duties and functions that may be assigned from time to time or as needed

The Plant Nurse develops, implements and manages the occupational health and wellness program of the Company. He/she provides emergency care of first aid to employees and assists in the implementation of policies and guidelines in safety and health related programs.

I. Employee Health

• Serves as the first-aider to all employees during emergency related cases and ensures the immediate relief of pain and anguish to employees who encounter accidents within the Company.
• Provides basic treatment like dressing, blood pressure reading etc. and responsible for monitoring the health status of the workforce.
• Conducts awareness campaigns and initiates programs on health, family planning, responsible parenthood and family welfare.

• Prepares all health and safety reportorial requirements of all related government agencies
• Conducts visitation of partners who are hospitalized.
• Assists the company doctor in the performance of his/her duty. Assists In the fitness and health evaluation of personnel.
• Implements and manages the vaccination program of the company which includes dependents of personnel.
• Monitors, maintains and responsible for requesting company medicines and clinic supplies. 
• Proposes activities and programs related to occupational health and wellness of the company

II. Company Programs/Initiatives

• Assists in the documentation and effective implementation of GMP procedures and guidelines concerning health.
• Participates in programs involving improvements and innovations in areas of quality, efficiency, proficiency, safety, sanitation, food safety, environment, waste reduction, sustainability, social responsibility and all other activities of the company.
• Checks compliance of subcon employees to the annual physical examination.
• Assists the Safety Committee of the company and Task Force Integrity
• Performs other tasks as may be directed by immediate superior.
