Scope of role

As a QA Engineer you will ensure a high-quality product is delivered to our customers while driving through improvements to our QA capability, you will report to the QA Manager in our Makati office. The software product QA team and have responsibility for delivering improvements and influencing colleagues, and implementing manual and automated tests. The team is part of the wider Engineering team which is a global team with main hubs in Manila, Sweden, Spain, UK and North America.

The Makati office is growing and we are looking for Engineers that want to be part of a successful team building software products and working with the latest technologies.  

As a QA Engineer, you will:

• Define and deliver QA strategic improvements and capabilities  
• Build expertise in important QA areas, for example performance or security testing    
• Deliver quality software to our customers  
• Drive the testing approach of user stories through refinement and technical designs  
• Develop automated and manual tests against those detailed user stories and designs  
• Ensure Engineering deliverables meet the needs of our customers, and are thoroughly tested  
• Focus on test automation to support Continuous Delivery to our customers  
• Validate engineering estimates and timescales
• Maintain current technical user documentation  
• Maintain the software on an ongoing basis  
• Communicate with our customer success team to help troubleshoot/verifying customer raised defects  

• 3 years of experience as QA Engineer proficient in automation testing and QA practices (BDD, Exploratory testing).  
• Experience in coding test automation using object-oriented programming languages e.g. Java  
• Must have an experience with Unix/Linux at the command line. 
• Experience creating tooling and scripts to support daily activities - for example provisioning, installing and configuring systems. 
• Manual testing experience, including root cause analysis.  
• Experience performing exploratory testing.  
• Experience with working in an Agile (Scrum) environment  
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle  
• Experience with quality and continuous improvement  
• Awareness of Continuous Delivery principles and how to test when continuously delivering.  
• Experience in version control systems like Git  
• Willing to work in a hybrid setup, reporting onsite at least once a week to our Makati office.

You'll be joining the team in Corporate Operations that develops our Digital Workflow Processes platform (Flowable) which supports the efficient execution of our corporate processes. As an Application Engineer, you'll be part of an international team, taking ownership and full responsibility for the design and implementation of our Workflow platform and its related applications. The team is also exploring different areas where we can leverage its skills in developing custom solutions to other platforms within our division - such as the development and integration of Java based line of business applications via SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).

Your key tasks

Setup, maintain, and enhance the platform for use within the Avaloq system (managing different environments, setting up third-party integrations, release management, etc)

Design, build, maintain, and document new and migrated applications in our Flowable platform

• Plan for, and implement the digitalization of our internal processes by using the Java based workflow automation framework Flowable
• Explore, propose, and implement enhancements to further improve the out-of-the-box features of the Flowable platform
• Apply Software Development best practices, including unit testing, version control, continuous integration and design patterns
• Drive the overall architecture and design of cross technology workflow orchestration

• The Tax Intern will work closely with the team and will be responsible for assisting with the preparation of tax returns, researching tax issues, and maintaining tax records.

• IT Asset management including procurement, deployment, delivery, repair and inventory

• Weekend Support and On-call support when needed

• Maintain the overall infrastructure (Physical and cloud).
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls,  IDS, IPS, DDoS and VPNs, to safeguard sensitive data and maintain compliance.
• Maintain the infrastructure, planning and perform software upgrade and hardware refresh.
• Troubleshoot network-related issues and outages, both in the cloud and traditional network environments, utilizing knowledge of routers/switches, proxy, loadbalancers and firewalls.
• Optimize network performance by monitoring, analyzing, and fine-tuning network configurations and protocols.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate network requirements into continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
