The Reinsurance Accountant will assume primary responsibility for all aspects of accounting for assigned reinsurance contracts. 

• Maintain the accuracy of premium information on reinsurance contracts including endorsements, premium adjustments and cash allocations
• Maintain all aspects of reinsurance contracts including bordereau reporting, claim payments and cash allocations
• Monitor aging of accounts receivable
• Monthly bordereaux reconciliation and data integrity checks
• Prepare monthly/quarterly working papers for journal entries to record activities for the accounting close process
• Review and analysis of cash receipts, payments and applications
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reinsurance account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of the general ledger
• Assist in the preparation of reinsurance cession statements, US GAAP and Statutory reports, regulatory filings, and audits
• Track deliverables and ensures compliance with prescribed due dates
• Other projects and/or tasks as assigned

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will be responsible for financial record-keeping, financial analysis, budgeting, and tax preparation. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations, as well as excellent math and analytical skills.

You will be expected to: 

• Perform month end closing activities such as
  • Cash reconciliation with Treasury team
  • Timely and accurate processing of journal entries (Fixed Asset Depreciation, Intangible Asset Amortization, Prepayment Expense, Payroll entries and other adjustments and corrections as needed)
  • Intercompany balances reconciliation

• Receive and review scanned invoices and emails in English and German and apply application in P&L on a daily basis;
• Prepare payments in on-line banking;
• Input payments received from clients in accounting systems;
• Help to prepare full set package of financial reports for relevant entities;
• Prepare weekly cash flow reports;
• Assist with the annual audit;
• Support and/or maintain the resolution of issues and queries;
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and reporting policies and procedures
