Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role:
The CFO is responsible for the overall planning, direction, coordination, and supervision of the financial and budget operations of the company. Ensures that all finance activities are geared towards increasing the shareholders’ value (increasing revenue and reducing costs).
Duties and Responsibilities:
A. General Functions expected of the position.
1. Do effective Planning and conceptualization.
- Providing leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team
- Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team
- Managing the processes for financial forecasting and budgets, and overseeing the preparation of all financial reporting
- Advising on long-term business and financial planning
- Establishing and developing relations with senior management and external partners and stakeholders
- Work with senior managers to efficiently develop budget proposals, provide access to project finance information, and ensure contract/grant compliance and reporting.
- Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyse internal operations, and identify areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.
- Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives.
- Set Frameworks, Goals, and Objectives for the whole Department.
- Establish Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Regulations and Rules needed by the Division,
- Do all activities related to strategic and systematic conceptualization.
2. Lead team members effectively
- Lead and guide strategic plan implementation.
- Recommend solution or alternative solution to team members and Immediate Superior to solve problems encountered.
- Communicate and coordinate necessary details and changes to team members.
- Guide and support staff for changes and revisions of set plans
- Monitor team member output which includes checking, verifications, input of revisions, and suggestions for improvement of work output
3. Control all aspects under jurisdiction of Department.
- Ensure consistent implementation of plans and strategies.
- Ensure strict compliance with policies, systems, and standard operating procedures.
- Ensure control of decisions and approvals
B. Specific Responsibilities
- Financial Planning and Capital Budgeting
- Participate during business developmental stage of each project.
- Reviews and approve project financials and financial sensitivity analysis.
- Recommend whether to accept or reject new projects based on financial models or recommend changes in concepts and timelines.
- Recommend inventory pricelists at the inception of the project and coordinates with legal/sales admin for the preparation of contract to sell templates per project.
- Determine equity needed per project based on funding mix and timelines.
- Prepare and review general and overall financial projections such as projected cash flows, balance sheet and income statement of the Company.
- Prepare monthly company budgets and variance analysis.
- Cash flow management
- Review and monitor project cash flows and consolidated reports.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly collections per project and ensures that target cash inflows are achieved.
- Check monthly sales quota and call the attention of the sales department if targets are not achieved.
- Monitor all company disbursement and checks all RFPs if approved within the budget.
- Monitor daily cash position and sends report to COO and CEO.
- Funding and Billing and Collection Role
- Ensure that funding targets are achieved and funding plans on development loans, CTS financing, collection, and end-user take outs are implemented on time.
- Help and advice team members in securing funds to cover identified cash gaps.
- Accounting Function
- Help the Accounting Head in the preparation of POC computations per project.
- Help in the application for BOI exemption and assists the unit in charge during availment.
- Monitor and review all accounting activities including taxation.
- Maintain good relationship with buyers and co-partners.
- Adhere to all approved company policies and regulations.
- Perform other functions as required by the Company.
Must-have Skills / Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance
- Certified Public Accountant
- At least Five or more years of experience in executive leadership and in a senior management position.
- Experience with Capital Management is required.
- Preferably with IPO experience or knowledge.
- Must be familiar with the following instruments: Bank and PAGIBIG financing, real estate loans, working capital loans, corporate bond and IPO funding.
- Excellent leadership skills, analytical and organizational skills
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
- Working knowledge of how to raise capital outside traditional lines of credit.
- Experience in mergers and acquisitions and investor relations
- Strong financial and accounting background, including an understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting.
- Experience with corporate governance
