Job Title: Staff Accountant
Work Hours: 40 hours/week, can be flexible; MST; with partial overlaps
Salary: 900-1,200 USD per month
Job Summary:
We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The Staff Accountant will come equipped with the basic accounting experience necessary to quickly add value to our accounting capabilities. This team member will live 95% of their day in accounting functions, but will occasionally be ready to help the Controller with special projects, or other team members with data entry tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Entering daily transactions in accounting software.
- Reconciling Credit Card Statements.
- Scanning Invoices and starting the AP process.
- Preparing a weekly payable run.
- Entering weekly deposits.
- Preparing journal entries, account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
- Maintaining documentation for accounts payable, purchasing, and treasury.
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Responding to information requests, reviewing financial statements, and assisting with audits.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Assisting the Controller as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- 2+ years of accounting experience desired.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong numeracy skills.
