Payroll Team Lead

​The role is primarily responsible for supervising the payroll operational activities of the Americas region. This includes supporting the manager in executing and delivering end-to-end payroll activities by ensuring quality and timeliness of output, adherence to required service level agreements, and compliance with internal and external regulations, policies, and procedures. The role will also be required to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to reach identified team goals.

  • Manage day-to-day payroll activities and leverage expert knowledge in Americas payroll/benefits/tax/HR information monitor team’s tasks and provide support in driving the completion of assigned payroll processes. 

  • Lead the data collection, development, and presentation of various payroll reports. 

  • Identify and analyze complex issues and act as a first-level escalation point for resolution and ensure queries, concerns, and escalations are addressed in a timely manner. Responsible for escalating the issues further as and when necessary and support in performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Incident Report (IR) to escalate issues and generate an appropriate and effective solution. 

  • Provide guidance and direction to the team, manage team workload, and recommend resource planning solutions for changing resource loading and work volumes. May be involved in recruiting activities as needed. 

  • Review the accuracy of the process and recommend elimination of potential risks that may have business and/or financial impact. 

  • Implement strategies based on accurate and meaningful data reports and analysis and/or keen observations. 

  • Lead short-term projects support medium to long-term projects and contribute to long-term initiatives planning.  

  • Lead and participate in various governance meetings to discuss operational results, issues, strategies, and solutions to improve the team’s performance with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Conduct performance management activities based on prescribed cadence. These activities may include team meetings, coaching sessions, midyear/annual performance reviews, etc. 

  • Provide regular performance and operational progress reports to managers to ensure issues are being flagged in a timely manner and ensure gaps are addressed  

  • Develop and prepare reports and analyses on workload management, SLA achievement, quality, and process efficiency and other related management reports and audits  

  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships by ensuring escalations are managed effectively and proactively and elevating them as and when necessary  

  • Led, managed, and executed transition-related activities such as FTE allocation, training delivery, DTP writing, and hypercare monitoring, and led/participated in transition governance meetings to ensure successful and timely transition completion.
