Job Summary:

We are currently looking for someone to support our Windows, Virtual, and Cloud server environments on a day-to-day basis. This includes installation, configuration, and maintenance of these environments.

This role is advanced and requires extensive expertise and proficiency. As a qualified individual, you will:

• Develop large and complex solutions through analysis and research
• Lead or provide expertise on multiple projects
• Work on projects of medium to high complexity
• Mentor junior technical staff
• Work independently on complex projects
• Have the freedom to make independent judgments

What you will be doing and what you bring:

Strong Experience with Windows Server Operating Systems:

• Knowledge and experience of Windows operating systems and related hardware
• Troubleshooting Windows Server issues and providing detailed root cause analysis
• Monitoring usage and performance, and troubleshooting software and hardware issues
• Proposing and implementing systems enhancements for improved reliability and performance
• Installing and maintaining software
• Knowledge of SAN storage and ability to configure storage for Windows OS
• Maintaining platform security with assistance from Information Security
• Extensive knowledge of IIS and ability to deploy code
• Experience in large enterprise Windows infrastructures
• Knowledge of Microsoft clustering

Strong VMware Experience:

• Knowledge and experience in VMware and virtual infrastructures
• Troubleshooting VMware-ESX related incidents
• Patching and maintaining ESX host servers
• Knowledge of SAN storage and ability to configure storage for ESX hosts

Network:

• General network management and knowledge of TCP/IP
• General knowledge of network monitoring tools

Automation:

• Developing automation for day-to-day operations through scripting or orchestration
• Proposing and implementing systems enhancements for improved reliability and performance
• Creating self-service portals
• Knowledge of VBScript, SQL, PowerShell, and SQL Reporting Services

Hardware:

• Experience with Dell and HP ProLiant servers and Cisco UCS blade servers
• Troubleshooting hardware issues and providing hardware specifications
• Knowledge of converged and hyper-converged infrastructure

General:

• Knowledge of technical writing principles and practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Delivering a consistent user experience
• Ability to work nights and weekends as required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to adapt to new technologies
• Effective relationship-building skills
