As an Accountant Assistant,
you will play a key role in supporting our client’s finance department in various tasks related to financial record-keeping and reporting. This position is ideal for an individual with a strong aptitude for numbers and a passion for contributing to the success of a dynamic organization.
Some of the things we expect you to do are to:
- Financial reporting – month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, sub-ledger reconciliations, journal preparation, entry of payables and receivables, and bank reconciliations.
- Payroll – assist in the preparation of fortnightly and monthly payroll 5%
- Asset Management – assist the Financial Controller in maintaining the entities asset register as required, as well as maintenance of the vehicle register
- Day-to-day accounting and administration functions
- Invoicing of sponsors and Academy players
We would need you to be or have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA is a huge plus but not essential
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong understanding of financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) and Microsoft Excel (Advance); experience with other ERP systems is a plus
- Experience with payroll processing software and knowledge of (Australian) payroll regulations and compliance
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and cross borders teams
- Highly organized and proactive, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative to streamline processes
