Position: Virtual Assistant (Marketing Associate)
Work Hours: US EST business hours (8 am - 3:30 pm EST, Monday - Friday); some flexibility here
Pay Range: 1,200 USD per month
Type of Contract: Independent Contractor
Duties and Responsibilities:
Examples of recurring tasks include:
- Adding prospects to lists in LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Setting up LinkedIn outreach campaigns in the LinkedIn tool
- Track down information about inbound leads in our marketing database
- Join meetings, take notes, and create follow-up tasks
- Monitor social media, respond to comments, and identify trends to improve social strategy
- Handle admin/life tasks that are time-sensitive (travel, sending flowers, etc.)
Examples of project-based tasks include:
- Set up a content management system for social media content
- Design (or manage the designer who creates) social media content
- Set up interviews for the book I’m writing, and capture/organize the notes from those interviews
- Identify ways to automate marketing/sales workflows so marketing is on autopilot
Here’s my basic philosophy when it comes to how to work with a marketing assistant:
- Get clear upfront on what we’re trying to achieve and what’s expected.
- Create a simple system for managing all the tasks so nothing slips between the cracks.
- You run with the assigned tasks and projects, and I’ll stay out of your way.
- You check in periodically (daily for some things, weekly for others) to make sure things are on track and your questions/issues are getting addressed.
- We succeed together!!
- 2+ Years of experience working remotely as a Marketing Assistant (or similar role) for a business owner or CEO who lives in the USA
- Proficient English speaker (comfortable talking, writing, and reading)
- Have experience with these business and marketing tools: Teams, Airtable (or a similar database or CRM like Excel or Monday), LinkedIn, Canva, Kajabi (or a similar course tool)
- Be self-starting, and diligent in completing tasks thoroughly w/o me having to worry about them.
- Be resourceful and scrappy, with good internet research skills (e.g., tracking down contacts on LinkedIn, tracking down content on Google, etc.)
- Be experienced with writing compelling marketing copy
- Be experienced with basic design tasks (e.g., social media posts)
- Be familiar with AI and automation tools and how to apply them to market better and more efficiently
- Keep an eye on marketing metrics and trends, and proactively make improvements to overall marketing strategies (e.g., find efficiencies, identify better ways to market, etc.)
