Our VFX Artist Internship Program is designed to provide aspiring VFX artists with hands-on experience and practical training in a professional work environment. Throughout the internship, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced industry professionals, collaborate on real-world projects, and develop your skills in various aspects of visual effects. This program aims to enhance your technical expertise, foster creativity, and prepare you for a successful career in the field of visual effects.
Internship Responsibilities
● Assist in the creation of visual effects for the game. This involves designing and implementing various effects such as explosions, fire, smoke, magic spells, melee attacks, and more.
● Collaborate with the production team to understand project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
● Follow established production workflows and adhere to quality standards.
● Participate in regular team meetings, providing updates on your progress and discussing project-related ideas.
● Learn and adapt to new software, tools, and techniques as required for project needs.
● Actively seek feedback from mentors and incorporate it into your work to improve your skills.
● Maintain organized file management and documentation of your work.
● Education: A degree or pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as computer animation, visual effects, game design, or a related discipline can be beneficial. May also consider applicants with equivalent experience or self-taught skills.
● Technical Skills: Understanding of industry-standard software tools for VFX creation, such as Image editing softwares (Photoshop, Krita, etc), 3D Modeling softwares (Blender, Maya, etc), Unity, or Unreal Engine.
● Knowledge of Game Development: Familiarity with the game development process and game engines.
● Communication and Collaboration: Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are crucial. As a VFX artist, you will collaborate with other artists, designers, and programmers, so being able to communicate ideas, take feedback, and iterate on your work is essential.
● Passion and Creativity: Demonstrating a genuine passion for games, visual effects, and a creative mindset is important. You should show enthusiasm for pushing boundaries and creating unique and captivating effects.
● General Portfolio: Portfolio containing game prototypes, 3d models, or animation examples. Can be a mix of school work and personal projects.
Bonus Qualifications
● A portfolio showcasing your VFX work. Preferably real-time but pre-rendered examples showcasing a range of effects and styles are also welcome.
● Familiarity with scripting languages or shader programming is an added advantage.
● Animation and Environment lighting is a plus.
