Position:  Technical Project Manager/Product Development Manager

Working Hours:  Flexible; a few hours overlapping with 9am-5pm EST

Salary Range:  1,500 - 2,000 USD

The company is formed in 1994, they are a technologically advanced international digital media group specializing in motor racing content offering 22 editions in 15 languages, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

About the role:

The Product Operations Lead is a strategic role within the Product Management, design, and engineering team, focused on driving impactful product development processes, tools, and systems that enable the delivery of high-quality media products. The primary goal is to create and maintain operational excellence that significantly contributes to the product's success in the market. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this role requires a blend of analytical prowess, process improvement acumen, and a consultative approach to internal operations.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Impact-Driven Process Optimization: 

  •  Innovate and enhance product development processes to maximize impact on product quality, customer satisfaction, and business outcomes. 
  • Implement agile methodologies and CI/CD practices with a focus on measurable improvements in speed to market and product performance. 
  • Define and track metrics and KPIs that directly correlate process efficiencies with product success in the market. 

Strategic Tool and System Management: 

  • Lead the strategic selection and management of product management tools to ensure they provide substantial value and drive impactful results. 
  • Streamline system integrations to foster seamless product development operations. 
  • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to ensure high adoption and effective use of operational tools, emphasizing their impact on product success. Collaborative Consulting: 
  • Employ a consultative approach to facilitate collaboration across product, design, and engineering teams, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and impact goals. 
  • Offer strategic consulting to integrate product operations with marketing, sales, customer service, and other departments, enhancing the product's market position. 
  • Serve as a change agent, leveraging consulting experience to guide teams through operational transformations that increase product impact. Resource Planning and Allocation for Maximum Impact: 
  • Align resource planning with the organization's impact objectives, ensuring optimal allocation to key initiatives. 
  • Monitor resource utilization against impact-driven goals, adjusting plans to enhance product outcomes.

Reporting and Impact Analytics: 

  • Develop reports that provide insight into how product operations influence key business metrics and long-term strategic impact. 
  • Utilize data analytics to uncover opportunities for increasing the effectiveness and impact of the product portfolio. 

Risk Management and Compliance with an Eye on Impact: 

  • Proactively manage operational risks with consideration for their potential impact on product success and business objectives. 
  • Uphold compliance standards while seeking ways to turn regulatory constraints into opportunities for product differentiation and impact. 

● Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

● Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, with at least 2 years in a product operations leadership role. (open to meeting someone with less experience as long as they meet all the other requirements)

● Consulting experience in business or technology with a proven ability to drive operational improvements and organizational change.

● Strong grasp of the media industry with an emphasis on creating impactful product strategies.

● Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements with quantifiable impacts on product performance.

● Proficient in agile methodologies with a thorough understanding of product management principles and their influence on business impact.

● Exceptional analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.

● Robust leadership capabilities with experience in guiding cross-functional teams toward a common impact goal.

● Agility in navigating fast-paced and dynamic environments.

Working Conditions:

● The role requires frequent cross-departmental collaboration and may involve travel to engage with teams, stakeholders, and industry events.
