Scope of role
As a Lead Software Engineer will ensure that OP5 Monitor meets the needs of the current customer base from a technical perspective. This will include understanding the product and ensuring any changes are consistent with the architecture.You will report to the Engineering Manager - Infrastructure Monitoring in our UK office, whilst managing a local team of engineers in our Makati office. The wider Engineering team is a global team with main hubs in Manila, Sweden, Spain, UK and North America.
The Makati office is growing and we are looking for Engineers that want to be part of a successful team building software products and working with the latest technologies.
As a Lead Software Engineer, you will:
- Lead a small cross functional team using Agile KanBan framework
- Maintenance of all backend components written in C, C++, Go and Python
- Oversight of the OP5 Monitor product architecture
- Work with the Product Owner to agree priorities of work in the backlog
- Work with our support team and customers to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues and improve the product
- Provide support to other members of the team
- 5 years experience with the majority of the following languages; C, C++, Go, Python and PHP
- Experience working with MySQL
- Experience working with GIT
- Experience with RESTful Services and APIs
- Advanced Linux especially RHEL, systemd and RPM packaging
- Knowledge of CI systems such as Buildbot and GoCD
- Business level oral and written English
- Interaction with open source communities and contribution to open source projects (desirable)
- Comfortable in using several open source technologies and tools
- Experience working in Agile environments (SCRUM, JIRA, KanBan)
- Experience of IT infrastructure monitoring or management (desirable)
- Knowledge of Nagios or Naemon
