About the Role:
We are a flight-tracking business so we need to maintain accurate databases of all airports, airlines, and aircraft. From the past and the future. We have been maintaining the databases ourselves for 4 years but are looking to hire someone now to do it full-time.
Reports of inaccuracies come via email and submission form from our users and this hire will need to confirm the accuracy using Wikipedia or other online searches, then enter the correct or new data into our online database backend, and then send a template reply to the user that the issue has been fixed.
So it would be very valuable if this person has an interest or understanding of commercial aviation. For example, each airport has two codes - JFK and KJFK - and each airline, and each aircraft. But they can overlap, or be difficult to find, and change over time, and the aircraft, in particular, have only very minor differences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reports of inaccuracies come via email and submission form from our users and you will need to confirm the accuracy using Wikipedia or other online searches
- then enter the correct or new data into our online database backend
- and then send a template reply to the user that the issue has been fixed
- Must have an interest or understanding of commercial aviation
- Has any CMS experience
