We are seeking an ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE/PAYROLL OFFICER to ensure the timely scheduling and collection of payments, maintaining precise records, and ensuring employees are accurately paid on a weekly basis.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, Dayshift.
This is an office-based position in central Cebu City.
The expected start date is February 2024.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an Accounts Receivable/Payroll Officer to join a close-knit finance team in Australia. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the timely scheduling and collection of payments, maintaining precise records, and ensuring employees are accurately paid on a weekly basis. RESPONSIBILITIES
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLES
- Coordinate the credit application and Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) registration process with the builders.
- Liaise with builders regarding the credit limit approved and secure any deposits required.
- Maintain and manage accounts receivable records, ensuring the claim structure is established and monitored regularly.
- Monitor and regularly follow up with the customers to gain commitment on upcoming payments, pre-payments, and outstanding payments.
- Calculate the work-in-progress values and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Process payments and adjustments accurately and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Coordinate the debt collection process, including issuing adjudication applications.
- Support process improvements within the AR function.
- Work collaboratively with the finance team to meet targets.
PAYROLL
- Complete end-to-end processing of weekly payroll for 50 people, including setting up individual records, checking and inputting timesheets, leave entitlements, overtime, time in lieu, reimbursements, allowances, terminations, and other related details.
- Prepare reconciliations and other reports for STP, employee deductions, government agencies and internal stakeholders.
- Managing timely payments of PAYG, superannuation and child support in line with regulatory deadlines.
- Investigate and resolve payroll queries and discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations.
- Distribute payslips to all employees on time.
- Perform ad-hoc requests as needed to support the payroll function and broader HR objectives.
- Assist in auditing processes as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or similar.
- At least five (5) years in a similar role, preferably with an Australian small to mid-size company.
- Knowledge of payroll regulations and tax compliance in Australia is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of the construction industry is an advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software and payroll systems, preferably with Xero.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, in a fast-paced, complex process-driven industry environment.
- Strong sense of accountability and reliability to produce quality output in line with legislation and internal processes.
- Excellent verbal and written English and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members effectively.
- High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive financial information.
