The Reinsurance Accountant will assume responsibility all aspects of accounting for assigned reinsurance contracts.
- Verification of underwriting data for quota share and/or excess of loss contracts
- Maintain the accuracy of premium information on excess of loss contracts including endorsements, premium adjustments, and cash allocations
- Maintain all aspects of quota share programs including bordereau reporting and posting, claims payments and cash allocation
- Monitor, and maintain within 90-day threshold, aging of accounts receivable
- Liaise with brokers, claims department and underwriting department regarding queries, outstanding receivables, and premium adjustments
- Complete underwriting system monthly close including testing of system accuracy for hand off to financial reporting team (ARL and Somers
- Additional projects and ad hoc duties as required
- Work with financial reporting team to investigate/ explain movements for the quarterly reserve call with senior management
- Attend QCR meetings and follow up investigation and liaising with various teams to report findings to UW in a timely manner for the quarterly closes
- Participate in systems enhancements including defining scope, developing and executing test plan
