The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager in preparing financial analysis, forecasts, and valuation studies for use in the development of financial and operational business decisions. Guided by the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Analyst should be able to extend executive support through strategic business partnering.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Reporting and Analysis
1. Ensures thoroughness, accuracy, and timeliness of financial analysis and reportorial requirements preparation for one or more divisions of the Food Group. These reports include but are not limited to the following:
a. BOD (Monthly performance highlights, latest thinking forecast)
b. EXCOM (Quarterly financial and operational highlights, other ad hoc reports)
c. MANCOM (Monthly reports covering the profitability and quality of revenue)
d. Banks (Forecasts, financial ratios)
e. Government institutions (Forecasts, other statutory requirements)
2. Prepares thorough, accurate, and timely ad hoc reports requiring deeper analysis due to higher degree of complexity and confidentiality.
3. Closely coordinates with different departments in the Food Group to ensure that relevant financial and operational information is reported and the integrity and confidentiality of the information are kept.
Financial Planning
4. Prepares the annual budget for one or more divisions of the Food Group and transitions the approved budget to the Controller's group for the monthly preparation of actual spending reports. Ensures financial forecasts reconcile with accounting reports.
5. Prepares monthly latest thinking forecast for one or more divisions of the Food Group to update full-year financial projections.
6. Ensures accurate and timely processing of CAPEX requests to effectively and efficiently manage capital spending.
Valuation and Investment Analysis
7. Builds financial models and valuation cases, and performs investment analysis for expansions,
new businesses, initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity, and mergers & acquisitions.
8. Provides analytical support to Executives, Business Development team, Corporate Strategy team,
and other operational teams across the Food Group.
9. Conducts post-mortem analysis and investment lookback after achieving milestones of
investment projects.
Others:
10. Provides support to CFOs, COOs, Country Directors and Controllers, Mill Managers, and other
executives, particularly in running financial and scenario analyses for both tactical and strategic
initiatives.
11. Provides research support to Treasury, and Risk & Commodity departments, particularly in data
gathering and analysis of key economic indicators that are regularly monitored by the Food
Group.
12. Provides cash, debt, and working capital analysis for one or more divisions of the Food Group.
13. Performs other tasks assigned by the Finance Manager as needed or as business conditions
change.
