Position: Editorial Operations Specialist (Full-time)

Salary: 800-1200 USD/month (depends on skills and years of experience)

Working Hours: 8 hour workday M-F with at least 4 hour daily overlap with CST. Schedules ranging from a 5:00am CST start time to a 1:00pm CST start time (e.g. schedule could be 7:00pm - 3:00am PH time, 3:00am - 11:00am PH time, or any 8 hour slot in between)

About the Company:

Our client, a new media company focused on the future of journalism and online storytelling, is seeking an Editorial Operations Specialist. As part of the newsroom team, you’d carry out various tasks, such as packaging content for our CMS, selecting and reviewing images for use in stories, creating and formatting story documents, and completing data entry and cleanups. You'll also contribute to improving editorial processes.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating and formatting client story Google Documents to be used by Stacker Editors
  • Building stories in the Content Management System, which includes loading in all relevant information, uploading images, adding tags and ensuring accuracy of data
  • Collecting images from clients and third party image suppliers such as Canva or Getty as needed; checking the size and format of client-provided images
  • Updating internal systems and trackers for accurate records
  • Performing various data entry tasks
  • Identifying opportunities for improving workflow
  • Assisting with special projects and other duties as assigned
  • Excellent attention to detail with 2+ years of experience in operations, content production, newsroom or similar space
  • Experience with online media or related industries is a plus
  • Experience copy editing content and reviewing for accuracy is a plus
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • Quick learner of new software
  • Comfortable with remote work and having a flexible schedule
  • Team player while also able to work independently
  • Specific Technical Skills or Software Knowledge Needed:
      • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
      • Prior experience working in project management tools such as ClickUp
      • Experience working in a Content Management System is a plus
      • Experience using third party image suppliers, such as Canva or Getty, is a plus
      • Familiarity with communication methods such as Gmail, Slack and Zoom
  • US holidays off
