Reporting Line
§ This position reports to the Regional Operations Supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities
§ Generally in-charge of maintaining the safety, quality management system and for ensuring the region’s compliance to the Global Business policies and procedures, Corporate Governance, Health and Safety, Operational Integrity, other required management system standards, applicable laws, and approved customer-related commitments.
Specific Responsibilities
§ Ensures compliance to the Group and national policies including, but not limited to the maintenance of the Quality Management System
§ Monitors work for compliance to applicable codes, and accepted engineering practices
§ Develops, maintains, and performs weekly update on program implementation of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE).
§ Acts as the Regional Representative on Health, Safety and Environment.
§ Acts as the Assistant Travel Manager of the region assigned.
§ Operating to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Code of Integrity.
§ Prepare detailed reports on audit findings.
§ Oversee the regional management of the OSH program in coordination with the OSH Committee.
§ Shall assist the Supervisor in implementing Operational Integrity (OI) Policies and Procedure.
§ Shall assist the Supervisor to monitors all health, safety and environment activities to ensure that the agreed safety and loss prevention standards are fully implemented and properly followed.
§ Shall assist the Supervisor in accident investigation and reports, assist on recommendation and corrective actions with the close out date and follows up the same to ensure implementation & effectiveness of the corrective action to avoid recurrence of the same.
§ Acts as the Project Representative on Health and Safety Environment (HSE) matters for coordinating and conducting weekly site inspections.
§ Monitoring the identified weaknesses in current procedures and areas of improvements, to ensure improvement plans are implemented.
§ Perform other functions that may be assigned from time to time.
§ Complies with the Quality, Health and Safety, Environment and Energy (QHSEE) policies and supporting objectives including, but not limited to:
o Demonstrating strong obligation to SGS QHSEE policies, procedures and work instructions by actively participating in meetings, projects and events, completes required training, intervenes in unsafe situations, refuses unsafe work, and complies fully with all applicable laws and regulations related to HSEE
o Reacting appropriately and immediately to emergency situations and assists other staff members in maintaining readiness to respond to emergencies within the workplace
o Reports all incidents, including near misses and hazards, that may affect the achievement of QHSEE objectives in accordance with SGS Incident Reporting and Management requirements
o Maintaining awareness of the safety and health related hazards and environmental aspects and proposes action plans to control the risks to immediate superior or QHSEE Coordinators
o Actively participating in incident investigations and risk assessments as deemed necessary by SGS management
o Fulfilling the requirements needed in the success of the QHSEE Management System
