Position: Data Scientist
Work Hours (Client): Mondays to Fridays, Eastern Time, TBD
Pay Range: $1500 - $2500/month
About the Role:
We’re seeking a highly analytical, self-motivated data scientist with strong programming skills to join our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect, clean, and manipulate large, complex datasets to find patterns within the financial markets
- Analyze and interpret data to identify patterns, trends, and insights
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in data science, AI, and machine learning
- Develop predictive models and algorithms to identify financial market trading opportunities using machine learning techniques, AI, Neural Networks, etc.
- Translate mathematical models and algorithms into code to automate back-testing and trading
- PhD/Masters degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, or another highly quantitative field
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Data Scientist or equivalent role
- Strong knowledge of probability and statistics (e.g., machine learning, time-series analysis, pattern recognition, NLP, AI, neural networks, etc.)
- Experience with translating mathematical models and algorithms into code (Python, R or C++)
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, etc.
- Experience in financial markets trading
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Portfolio showcasing previous work and demonstrating skills and experience
