The Master Trainer/Mentor will contribute to the design and development of curriculum and training courses, and deliver O2 Training of Trainers programs, provide monitoring and coaching to O2 local partners’ trainers and facilitators, and support TESDA and DepEd ALS administrators. S/he will organize, lead, or co-facilitate meetings and workshops as needed.
Essential Functions
The Master Trainer/Mentor’s specific responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Curriculum and Instructional Materials Development
- Participation in consultative meetings and needs analysis for curriculum and training program design and development.
- Review, enhancement, writing, and creation of curriculum, blended learning, and instructional materials related to O2, which includes, but is not limited to modules, interactive audio instructions, complementary materials, and contextualized materials, among others.
- Review, enhancement, and development of instructional materials used for training of trainers, which includes, but is not limited to facilitator’s guides, participant handbooks, training presentation decks, online worksheets, and training handouts.
- Development and implementation of process flow for the creation of curriculum and instructional materials that involves instructional design, materials development, review and vetting of materials, and layout and finalization of the materials.
- Analysis and evaluation of training results and contribution to the continuous improvement of training curriculum, design, and instructional and learning materials.
- Creation, maintenance, and updating of a database of curriculum and instructional and learning materials developed by the O2 Technical Team.
Training Design and Implementation
- Planning and implementation of activities to strengthen systems service delivery, such as training higher education or training institutions, ALS providers, TVIs and TTIs, and other partners on life skills, 21st century skills, workforce readiness training, youth entrepreneurship, and other topics related to the goals of O2.
- Planning and implementation of a face-to-face and blended professional development training programs for ALS implementers in close coordination with the IR 1 Team and DepEd
- Planning and implementation of activities to strengthen systems and service delivery in TESDA trainers’ professional development and continuing education in close coordination with the O2 Team.
- Development, planning, organization, and facilitation Training of Trainers workshops (TOT) and refresher training on, but not limited to O2 curricula, Positive Youth Development, and systems-strengthening topics, for representatives of DepEd ALS, TESDA, the private sector, the Youth Development Alliances (YDA), Department of Trade and Industry, Philippine Employment Service Office, People Management Association of the Philippines, higher education institutions, youth service providers and trainers, and other partners and champions.
- Creation and review of training designs, learning materials, and monitoring tools for O2 training activities based on feedback from training partners
- Leading the delivery (actual training implementation) of capacity-building programs for multipliers and service providers at the National, Regional, Provincial, or City/Municipality level.
Curriculum and Program Implementation Guidance and Coaching
- Provision of support and monitoring of training of trainers’ programs and multiplier training programs on O2 curricula conducted by DepEd ALS, TESDA, and local partners.
- Provision of support to the O2 technical teams for the provision of monitoring and mentoring to DepEd ALS, TESDA, and local partners on the implementation of O2 curricula.
- Provision of support to local training providers to help integrate Work-Based Learning (WBL), entrepreneurship training and coaching, and technical training into their existing programs and services for DepEd ALS and TESDA youth.
- Provision of timely feedback, mentoring, and coaching to learning service providers to ensure high quality training activities at the field level.
Cross-Functional Alignment
- Provision of support and assistance to the O2 technical teams in co-developing and delivering trainings and support for implementing workshops, forums, and other learning events at the national and local level.
- Provision of support in the dissemination of project-wide assessments results for good practices awareness.
- Provision of support to the O2 technical teams in effectively communicating the plans, outputs, and outcomes of training and delivery of O2 curriculum to DepEd ALS, TESDA, and local partners.
- Provision of support to the Grants Team and Youth Development Team Leaders to support and monitor the implementation of O2 curricula in their respective sites.
- Alignment with the Monitoring and Evaluation Team in ensuring quality of training and target goals are reached.
- Alignment with O2 staff in planning and delivering training sessions led by other teams, as needed, and provide technical inputs to team meetings and written materials for quarterly reports.
Organizational Relationships and Employment Status
- Directly reports to Manila-based Training Manager
- Based in Davao City, with availability to travel to all project sites
