JOB OBJECTIVE:
The Farm Production Technician (for Breeding & Gestation) is responsible for the over-all activities relating to the breeding and gestation unit which include breeding and implementation of breeding related programs, management of pregnant sows/gilts, feeding, health assessment & medication, biosecurity, barn management, data recording and data management and other related programs under the Breeding & Gestation operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Genetic Program
Implements genetic program and monitors, evaluates and analyzes results of the genetic program.
Ensures compliance of the section to the approved genetic program.
Monitors and ensures accuracy, completeness and correctness of breeders' profile and breeder animals' individual records in the field and in the swine production management software.
Breeding process
Carry out heat detection, artificial insemination, boar semen collection and semen processing activities and ensures compliance to the section's SOPs.
Assess and monitors the breeding activities to ensure that production performance targets are achieved.
Reports any issues or concerns that may be noted in the breeding activities.
Analyzes performance gaps and recommends measures to address gaps.
Recommends and implements enhancements to existing breeding programs and activities.
Coordinates with other sections to ensure seamless integration of the breeding processes to the entire swine production flow.
Breeding & Gestation Operations
Carry out barn management activities to maintain the cleanliness, orderliness and functionality of the breeding and gestation facilities.
Carry out procedures relating to the proper management of gilts, sows and boars in the section.
Conducts activities related to hog sales declaration and selling of pigs in the farm.
Collects and records swine operations data & maintains production records.
Other Tasks
Conduct other farm operational duties that may be assigned to ensure attainment of the farm's goals and deliverables.
Train breeding and gestation staff to build the competency of the team in order to achieve performance targets.
FOOD SAFETY:
Ensures execution of quality and food safety policy, standards and regulations within the team.
Responsible for reporting problems related to Halal, food safety & quality management system to identified authorities.
OTHER TASKS:
Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management etc.
Performs other tasks related to the job as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
