Platform Team Lead

Purpose of the role

As a member of the Technology Group at Navitaire you will lead the team in design, development, maintainance and support of cloud platforms that are used by products servicing people all over the world. The Technology Group within Navitaire provides the common services, frameworks, platforms and architecture guidelines used by the Global Engineering and Product teams.

In this role you'll:

• Coordinate with scrum team on team priorities
• Design and develop hybrid solutions to run on premise and in the public cloud platforms (AWS,Azure, GCE, etc.)
• Provide expertise and mentorship in the development and maintenance of Navitaire technology  solutions
• Responsible for communicating leadership guidance to all members of their team. Facilitate communications between teams.
• Develop, motivate team members to stretch and expand their own capabilities
• Collaborate with team to deliver operational improvement work items. Facilitate operational rotations and ensure efficient resolution production issues
• Provide expertise on relevant technologies and follow coding and implementation standards
• Stretch and expand own capabilites and offer flexibility to meet goals
• Serve as the point of contact and subject matter expert of a Platform Service

About the ideal candidate:

• BS in Computer Science/Mathematics/Physics/Data Science or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of professional programming experience in C#, .NET Core and NoSQL
• 2+ years recognized as a subject matter expert of enterprise-level systems or sub-systems, working on coding, design and production support
• 2+ years of experience working in an agile setting
• 2+ years of experience working on cloud deployed solutions
• Proven experience with balancing team management and individual contribution work
• Practical experience with coaching and performance interactions
• Airline industry knowledge is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and multi-cultural environment
• Team player, high initiative and quick learner

Baseline:

• C# and .NET Core
• SQL and NOSQL databases
• API integration and implementation
• Unit tests
• Hands-on experience with implementing cloud deployed solutions (Azure preferred, AWS considered)Experience working with CI/CD automation
• External API design / implementation experience

Plus:

• Test automation experience using xUnit, NUnit or other C# test automation framework. Web development Hands-on experience working within microservice based architecture. Cloud data storage experience (Azure SQL, Cosmos or equivalents)
• Test automation development experience beyond unit testing (integration, performance, etc)
