MyDeal.com.au has traditionally operated as a marketplace platform however, we have expanded and launched our very own In-Stock department, purchasing and selling inventory on our own site and multiple other sales channels online. We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager – Instock Operations to join our team, to assist in coordinating all key import functions.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing and management of the day-to-day operations of the Instock operations function.
Logistics and Supply Chain Management
- Coordinate the movement of goods from suppliers to warehouse.
- Implement systems for tracking shipments and inventory levels.
- Continuously evaluate and improve logistics and supply chain processes.
Procurement Management
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and policies.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish vendor relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with procurement regulations and ethical standards.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities.
Training and Development
- Assist in developing and delivering training programs for all Instock operations staff.
- Continuously review processes, identifying opportunities for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires, providing them with the necessary operational training and guidance.
Team and Performance Management
- Support the hiring, training, and development of the Instock operations team.
- Set up performance goals and expectations for the Instock operations team.
- Provide guidance and coaching to team members, addressing performance issues and fostering a positive work environment.
- Redundancy/resilience building is essential for this role to ensure there are no substantial disruptions to Instock Operations in the event of personal or annual leave, or unforeseen circumstances.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and present reports on procurement and logistics performance.
- Use data and analytics to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
- Prior experience in team and operations management, or a related field.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting stakeholders and actively contributes to achieving optimal outcomes.
- Strong leadership abilities, including the capability to motivate and guide a team, resolve conflicts, and foster a positive work environment.
- An understanding of technical requirements surrounding e-commerce marketplaces is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of e-commerce software, logistics and procurement systems, and relevant tools for effective performance tracking and reporting.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and remain composed under pressure.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality.
- Full-time on-site availability and willingness to work are required.
