The Steam Boiler and CDA Engineer is responsible for the control and monitoring and operation of the Steam Boiler plant and Compressed Dry Air facility. Perform maintenance as needed ensuring a reliable, efficient supply of steam and compressed air to all feed mill operations without sacrificing safety and environment-friendly operation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Facility Operation and Maintenance
Efficiently operates computerized biomass boiler system in accordance with specifications, instructions, and specified sequence
Promptly provides feedback to maintenance planners, technicians, and/or supervisors regarding any abnormalities and alarming equipment conditions.
Regularly measure and monitor raw biomass feedstock, including wood, waste, or refuse materials.
Regularly monitor and record the data of air compressors and air dryers ensuring parameters are within the standard.
Consistently record and report operational data such as readings on meters, instruments, and gauges.
Effectively read and interpret instruction manuals or technical drawings related to biomass boiler production equipment or processes.
Regularly inspect the CDA facility and the biomass boiler plant or processing equipment, and record and report damages, and any facility problems.
Effectively operate the backup diesel fuel boilers in case the biomass boiler can not supply sufficient steam to feed mill production.
Energy Production, Supply, and Management:
Regularly monitors and maximizes Energy Production
Constantly identifies and recommends to Mechanical supervisor strategies and measures to promote optimum energy production and energy conservation. Implements, monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of approved policies and measures.
Regularly prepares and submits a relevant report as advised by the team leader
Effectively coordinates with engineering, procurement, and warehouse analyst on the supply management of the biomass feedstock, diesel, and other supplies to assure continuous and cost-efficient operation.
Air Pollution Control Management:
Regularly monitors and records the quality of smoke emissions from the smokestack.
Closely coordinated with the Pollution Control Officer and mechanical supervisor regarding the regular stack emission testing of the facility in accordance with the standard as set by the DENR and or other applicable standards.
Promptly reports to the immediate Team leader any abnormalities in the emission of the smoke stack.
Risk Management
Closely coordinate with Maintenance Supervisors and formulate a risk management system for the Biomass boiler and CDA facility.
Consistently ensure that all risk-mitigating actions are implemented according to plan and regularly submit risk monitoring reports to the Mechanical Supervisor.
Continuously identify operational and occupational risk and recommend mitigating actions to the mechanical supervisor.
Continuous Improvement Projects:
Continuously explore the system and facility improvement and recommendations for implementation.
Other Tasks:
Attends emergency/special calls relative to electrical problems during the night shift, should the need arise.
Implements the good housekeeping program 5 S and other company programs in all areas supervised
Ensures compliance with governmental regulations and deviation from such should be brought to the attention of the Feeds Engineering Manager
Performs work as may be assigned by the immediate superior.
Food Safety:
Complies with quality, Halal, health, and food safety policy, standards, and regulations of the company.
Responsible for reporting problems related to Halal, food safety & quality management system to identified authorities.
Other Duties & Responsibilities:
Actively participate in all company programs and activities under quality improvement, safety & security, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, risk management, etc.
Performs other related tasks as may be assigned by the Team Leader.
