The Bankruptcy Documentation Specialist will be responsible for gathering and organizing essential financial documents and information from clients to support the bankruptcy process. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of client files, which is essential for the success of our legal proceedings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in drafting and filing bankruptcy petitions, schedules, and related documents pre-judgment
- Manage post-judgment actions, including enforcement of court orders and bankruptcy plan implementation
- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary financial documents, including but not limited to tax returns, bank statements, pay stubs, and asset inventories.
- Review documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with legal requirements.
- Organize and maintain client files in a systematic and secure manner.
- Collaborate with attorneys and other staff members to ensure timely and efficient document collection.
- Follow up with clients to request missing or additional information as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive client information.
- Assist with other administrative tasks and projects as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in legal studies or a related field is preferred.
- Bankruptcy and litigation experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in a legal or financial setting.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document review and data entry.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office suite and document management software.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
- Own Laptop or Desktop (8GB RAM, Core i5 or above & Microsoft Office) and internet connection of at least 10 Mbps
- Willing to work on Pacific Standard Time (PST) schedule
