Seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and reliable Supervisor-Logistics to be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the movement of ordered items, local and imported and to ensure that the logistics operations run smoothly and efficiently. Reporting to the Superintendent-Supply Chain.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Supervising and leading a team of logistics staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and training, and ensuring the team meets performance targets
- Overseeing day-to-day logistics operations, such as cargo pick up instruction, shipping coordination, to ensure smooth and efficient workflow
- Coordinating transportation activities, such as scheduling deliveries, selecting carriers, and optimizing routes to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of goods
- Liaising with suppliers to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure timely receipt of goods and services in line with operational requirements
- Managing and maintaining accurate records and documentation related to shipments, inventory, and logistics operations to ensure compliance with regulations and facilitate efficient tracking of goods
- Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics operations, analysing data, and identifying areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in logistics operations, promoting a safe working environment, and addressing any safety concerns or non-compliance issues
- Resolving logistics related issues, addressing challenges that arise during operations, and implementing solutions to optimize logistics processes and overcome obstacles
