The role entails precise translation of popular video game content and related text from English to Tagalog/Filipino following product-specific guidelines to ensure high linguistic quality and adherence to relevant conventions. Whether translating directly or reviewing translations, the role will collaborate with a team to produce top-quality localized content.
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Create or assist in creating glossaries and style guides following pre-defined guidelines from the client.
- Create or assist in creating style guide documents
- Carry out translation work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
- Carry out revision work following provided guidelines and instructions, including First Party terminology.
- Accomplished all work meeting the outlined deadlines and industry standard productivity figures.
- Provide linguistic feedback for work carried out externally.
- Work as part of a large team of translators or revisers.
- Experience in the translation industry (video games specific or entertainment media experience is a plus) or proven use of language skills in a professional environment.
- Excellent knowledge of business software applications (e.g. Microsoft Office)
- Knowledge of CAT tools (memoQ is a plus)
- Experience working with TMS software (Plunet/XTRF) preferred but not required
- Clear and effective English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrates proactivity
- Good organisation and problem-solving skills
- Keeps a “can do” attitude and positive thinking
