Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design Creation: responsible for creating detailed designs and renderings of jewelry pieces using specialized CAD software. They must have a keen eye for design aesthetics and an understanding of jewelry trends and styles.
- Technical Proficiency: proficient in using CAD software programs such as Rhino, Matrix, or SolidWorks. They must possess strong technical skills to accurately translate design concepts into digital models.
- Collaboration: collaborate closely with jewelry designers, gemologists, and other team members to bring design concepts to life. They may need to incorporate feedback and make adjustments to designs based on client preferences or technical requirements.
- Prototyping and Testing: may be involved in creating prototypes of jewelry pieces using 3D printing or other rapid prototyping techniques. They may also participate in testing prototypes to ensure they meet quality standards and functional requirements.
- Quality Control: responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of their designs. They must pay attention to detail and have a thorough understanding of jewelry manufacturing processes to create designs that can be efficiently produced and assembled.
- Documentation: may be required to create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for each design to facilitate manufacturing and production processes.
- Continuous Learning: Jewelry design trends and CAD software capabilities are constantly evolving. CAD designers must stay updated on the latest advancements in CAD technology and jewelry design techniques to enhance their skills and creativity.
- 1-2 years of experience in CAD designing.
- Must have a creative portfolio to present as part of the screening process.
- Proficiency in using Adobe Photoshop.
- Should have strong technical skills and attention to detail. Must know how to translate design concepts into precise digital models, considering factors such as dimensions, gemstone settings, and structural integrity.
Advantageous:
- Experience in jewelry design or related experience.
- Proficiency in using CAD Software(i.e Rhino, Matrix, or SolidWorks)
- Degree or certification in jewelry design, industrial design, or a related field can be advantageous.
- Specialized training or courses in CAD software programs may be beneficial systems, as well as familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an advantage.
