The Risk & compliance Manager is responsible for supporting the Chief Compliance & Risk Officer (CCRO) of StashAway in developing the Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and managing the compliance assurance programme.
You are part of the Company’s second line of defense to support the business in ensuring implementation of the risk management framework and ensuring compliance with applicable local laws, regulations and internal policies, and in mitigating all forms of risks. Functionally, you will directly report to the Group Chief Compliance and Risk Officer (CCRO) who is based in Singapore.
You will work effectively alongside Senior Management, Country Managers, Compliance, Technology risk management teams and company wide stakeholders from Product, Operations, Investments, Engineering (Business Risk Champions) in ensuring the continued robustness of the risk management function.
Responsibilities:
Risk Management
- Establish, drive and enhance frameworks, policies and procedures for the identification, assessment, management and reporting of enterprise wide risk across the StashAway Group.
- Manage end-to-end enterprise wide risk processes, ensuring a strong understanding and discipline of the implementation of Risk Control Assessment (RCA) processes across teams, monitoring KRIs, tracking incidents and actively supporting remediation plans.
- Work collaboratively with business units and functions to design and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, controls and action plans. Monitor the effectiveness of controls and recommend enhancements as necessary.
- Responsible for coordinating and developing the regular reporting to the senior executives and committee; including the preparation of risk management meeting decks and dashboards.
- Work closely with product teams to value add on risk insights into product changes, new product and market launch, open issues and risks relevant to the market..
- Oversee the implementation of risk management tools and systems in the Group leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance risk monitoring, reporting, and decision-making processes.
- Staying abreast of regulatory requirements, industry trends, and emerging issues, translating and interpreting laws, rules, and regulations specific to operational risk, IT, cyber and data security, business continuity alongside the information security personnel in a manner relevant to StahsAway’s size and scale of operations.
- Develop, implement and support business owners in managing vendor risks, vendor assessments and on-going reviews.
Compliance monitoring & assurance
- You will be responsible for developing monitoring protocols, conducting assessments, identifying potential compliance issues, tracking and implementing corrective actions.
- This role will involve tracking and collaborating with various departments and teams within the company to ensure all actions are remedied and closed in a timely manner.
- You will undertake ad hoc compliance projects and support Group-wide responsibilities as and when required.
- You will support the preparation of reports for the Group ARMC from a monitoring and assurance perspective.

- Good university masters or degree in accountancy, finance, business, audit or similar disciplines.
- Strong knowledge and relevant experience in general risk management principles and frameworks.
- 5-7 years relevant experience in risk management for the financial services industry or consulting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the capability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Independence in managing multiple tasks and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
