Quality Control and Laboratory Manager

Qualification & Work Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in science
2. Five years of experience in related field required with supervisory experience a plus.
3. Knowledge in operating laboratory testing equipment eg. Tensile machine, Oxygen Permeability Analyzer & Water Vapour Permeability Analyzer, Microtom cut and microscope.
4. Experience in plastic packaging industry is preferred and knowledge in production process.
5. Ability to manage and maintain BRC Global Standard for Food Safety and HACCP system in multinational organisation – mandatory requirement
6. Preferable Chinese candidates with BRC/FSSC/HACCP experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

1. Established, implementation and maintenance of the company’s policies and management system procedures to ensure adherence and conformance to applicable standards at all times.
2. Supervise daily activities of quality and assist in the implementation of quality assurance system by ensuring that quality procedures and work instructions are being followed by production and quality department and initiate/feedback for improvement.
3. Consistent update in to do list to keep management informed and assured on quality standard of product and improvement taken to keep quality consistent.
4. Consistent update to management with issues, recommended improvement, and strategy for better solution to keep product quality at consistent standard.
5. Lead and perform internal audit and handle activities / document / program of HACCP & BRCGS Packaging Material requirement and feedback for permanent improvement action.
6. Training quality staff, lab technician as well as production staff
7. Timely and constructive feedback and appraisal for individual development.
8. Maintain the well keep and cleanliness of the Laboratory equipment and laboratory area.
9. Ensure laboratory test result is completed and compiled on time, and timely feedback the result to production for the next action.
10. Ensure the laboratory test result is analysed and feedback for improvement.

Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Develops, implements, and manages processes to ensure that products meet required specifications for quality prior to delivery.
2. Developing plans to manage waste by reducing or reuse the waste.
3. Initiate an investigation on non-compliance product or process and follow up action status till closure.
4. Participate in production process and initiate improvement plan to assure the right quality is produced consistently.
5. Participation in new product development, new material evaluation and new order production to ensure information is collected for improvement or reference for the future mass production run.
6. Identifies and sets appropriate quality standards and parameters for products and establish procedures for education and training.
7. Communicates quality standards and parameters to QA team, production team, and other appropriate staff.
8. Identifies and analyses issues, defects, and other problems, particularly when problems recur, recommends and facilitates solutions to these issues.
9. Maintains a list of equipment and schedules all inspection, measuring and test equipment for calibration or verification.
10. To perform any other duties assigned by superior(s) from time to time.
