- Responsible for the effective planning, organizing, leading and managing end-to-end F1 Rice and F1 Corn Seeds Production Operations in compliance to company HSE Management System, Fair Labor Program, Quality Management System and other company mandated programs/ policies to ensure safety, ethics, quality, reliability, productivity and cost-effective.
- Establish and implement F1 Rice and F1 Corn Seed Production Operations systems, processes and tools from field to plant and ensure resources are available, activities are safely, properly & efficiently done and according to budget.
- Ensure that field operations is able to consistently achieve target yield, quality and cost goals (cost efficient) through dynamic contract growing operations and other growing models anchored with continual improvement.
- Develop field capacity based on the 5Year Business plan through retention and expansion of established grower bases, identification of potential seed production new locations for field capacity improvements, resources management, and organizational development.
- Coordinate regularly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operations are in order and meeting regulatory and customer requirements.
- Lead the implementation of productivity improvement plans through planting density optimization, field mechanization and digitalization, and other initiatives to improve yield and quality ensuring reliability of seeds produced.
- Initiatives for sustainability projects including sustaining field capacity driven by some productivity projects recommendation such as Energy (renewable & efficiency), water and fertilizer utilization, etc.,
- Manage effectively 3rd party vendors who provide services and or supplies of materials for the operations in compliance to direct and indirect procurement processes.
- Lead the implementation of Lean Six Sigma and other Productivity Improvement initiatives in the operations to reach committed productivity targets be in savings, efficiency and other improvement measures.
- Administratively oversee other Seeds Operations functions (i.e. Quality, Parent Seed, SCL and SPR) operating in Mindanao.
- Performs a variety of tasks relating to the operations and other duties as assigned by his Supervisor/Manager
- Oversee the over-all F1 Rice and F1 Corn Production Operations in Mindanao
- Directly manage Plant Operations in Mindanao with 3P support and tollers
- Execute the area multiplication variety/vendor plan for commercial seed production.
- Understanding the area and ensure seed multiplication capabilities are in placed to meet those needs, with clear focus on reliability, yield, quality and customer responsiveness.
- Determine production planning parameters such as production safety and base yield levels at crop level, to ensure production risks are balanced against the achievement of SPP also future development program.
- As the technical expert, provide crop/variety specific knowledge to internal team, grower and vendor as required (e.g advice on field capabilities needed).
- Review the vendor contracting process at the grower level, through agreeing purchase prices and other contracting terms within the area framework.
- Own, define, and communicate performance against agreed KPÍ's within the Production Operations team.
- Link work and up to date with Plant Operations/ tolling team regarding volume harvest and drying capacity and SPR on developing field production trials and package of technology.
- Drive and ensure the production process comply with compliance and support Field Production Team members have safe and health working condition.
- Active participation in Production and Supply team(s), working with the other P&S members in the operational delivery of supply.
