JOB SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor for Egg Production is responsible for managing the operations of the Rearing and/or Laying sections of the company’s layer farm. He/she implements programs (biosecurity, animal husbandry, etc) and procedures in order to achieve layer operational efficiency and production targets.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
REARING and LAYING PROCESSES & ACTIVITIES
- Manages and coordinates all major activities and ensures that standard operating procedures are adhered to:
- Pre-loading and transfer/receiving preparations (day old pullet chick-in, transfer of pullets)
Brooding, debeaking - Medication and Vaccination
- Sample Weighing for Conformity and Uniformity
- Culling
- Post-transfer Cleaning
- Repairs between cycles
- Prepares and monitor budget

- Ensure rearing and layer house systems (Feeds, Water, Ventilation, Lighting, Egg Collection, Manure Collection, Cage, etc.) are working and in good condition, specifically:
- feeding & feed order management
- lighting program implementation
- temperature & humidity management
- health checks
- egg collection
- mortality & manure collection
- house upkeep & preventive maintenance
- inventory & record keeping
- biosecurity compliance
- forecasting & reporting
- Implements flock health programs for the assigned farms. Applies therapeutic regimen as needed and as instructed by the Farm Veterinarian
- Conducts routine rounds in the farms to check on the facility status and health status of animals and responds to control disease situations.
- Conducts over-all assessment of the facility and husbandry practices in the farms to evaluate factors that may influence and impact the flock health.
- Analyzes trends based on metrics and interpret results by identifying possible causes of abnormalities requiring immediate dispositions or recommendations for an appropriate course of action
- Performs necropsy and submits findings to Farm Manager and Veterinary Manager and submit necropsy findings
- Submits specimens and samples to external parties for diagnostics and analysis to check health status of the flocks as needed or based on regulators.
- Conducts regular flock health screening then recommends and implements enhancements to existing procedures and programs of the section
- Coordinates with other section supervisor and leadmen to ensure seamless integration of Rearing and Laying processes to the entire Layer production flow.
- Ensures that all animal husbandry related documents and reports are accomplished and submitted in a timely manner.
FARM BIOSECURITY POLICY
- Ensures that the company’s biosecurity policies and SOPs are strictly followed.
- Conducts regular biosecurity audits to ensure compliance on the biosecurity procedures.
- Review on processes and practices that may help improve the existing biosecurity procedures.
- Provides biosecurity recommendations to further improve the farms' biosecurity procedures.
INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
- Checks inventory of supplies (Feeds, Office Supplies, MedVax, R&M, etc) and ensures that stocks are sufficient all the time.
- Ensures that supply stocks (Feeds, Office Supplies, MedVax, R&M, etc) are available for use in the farms.
- Ensures proper management of near expiry medicines and vaccines including other supply stocks to avoid or minimize expiring stocks.
- Ensures proper implementation of biosecurity procedures for incoming stocks in the farms.
- Perform necessary System Transactions
REGULATORIES
- Prepares for regulatory documents, e.g. Animal Welfare, Animal Disease Monitoring Certificate, Biosecurity Policy, Veterinary Health Certificate, Vaccination Records, etc.
- Prepares documents and facilitates the processes necessary to secure shipping documents and other farm certificates, permits or licenses.
- Coordinates with relevant government agencies to ensure smooth and seamless transactions in the regulatory requirements
TEAM SUPERVISOR
- Supervise, monitors, and evaluates the performance of direct subordinates
- Builds PAR and provides intervention for the development and growth of direct subordinates
- Monitor the services of third party manpower service providers
- Document and reports lapses
FOOD SAFETY
- Comply with the company's quality, Halal (if applicable), health, and food safety policies, standards, and regulations.
- Responsible for reporting Halal, food safety, and quality management system issues to the appropriate authorities.
OTHER DUTIES
- Participate in all company initiated program and activities
- Appointment Membership to committees whenever necessary
- Takes charge of the expansion projects and or project improvement of the Rearing and Laying section as may be assigned.
- Controls medication and other veterinary related costs and aims to reduce them whenever necessary.
- Conducts training of farm personnel on biosecurity and animal husbandry cascades that may affect animal health.
- Facilitates creation, development, delivery, implementation, review, monitoring, and update of documented guidelines for Poultry husbandry practices
