Wrist Shared Service Center is looking for a UI Designer to join our innovative team and help design and refine the user experience for our digital platform, Gateway [https://gateway.garrets.com/] and future projects. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our platform remains user-friendly, visually appealing, and efficient for our global maritime customers. Your work will be central to providing a seamless, intuitive, and data-driven digital experience, helping us maintain our leadership in the maritime supply industry.
What you'll be doing:
User Interface Design & Development
- Design clean, user-friendly, and intuitive interfaces for the Gateway platform and future platforms.
- Ensure the platform provides seamless user experiences across all devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
- Create and maintain wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for new and existing features.
Design System Management
- Develop and maintain a cohesive design system, ensuring consistency in UI components, typography, color schemes, and branding.
- Collaborate with other designers and developers to implement and evolve the design system
Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams
- Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and developers to translate business needs into functional and visually appealing designs.
- Communicate design concepts and deliverables to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project goals.
Responsive & Adaptive Design
- Design interfaces that are fully responsive and adaptive, optimizing for different screen sizes and devices to ensure a seamless experience across platforms.
- Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth implementation and functionality of responsive designs.
UI Performance Optimization
- Continuously optimize the UI for performance and scalability, ensuring fast load times and smooth interactions across the platform.
- Stay updated on UI performance trends and implement best practices to enhance user engagement.
Innovation & Trend Awareness
- Keep up with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in UI design and ensure the platform remains modern and competitive.
- Proactively suggest design improvements and new features that can enhance the customer experience.
Stakeholder Engagement & Feedback Integration
- Regularly engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback on design iterations and align UI goals with business objectives.
- Incorporate feedback from different departments and users into the design process to ensure the platform meets user needs and business requirements.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or any related field
- Proven experience as a UI Designer with a strong portfolio of web and mobile design projects.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, or similar.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, with experience in usability testing and user research.
- Expertise in creating responsive and adaptive designs that work across multiple devices.
- Experience with design systems, style guides, and ensuring design consistency.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
