About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Oracle Developer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Oracle database design, development, and performance tuning. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining Oracle-based applications, optimizing queries, and ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of database solutions. This role requires close collaboration with business analysts and other developers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Oracle Database Development
- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database applications, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and complex SQL queries.
- Develop PL/SQL code for business logic and implement data access layers for web and enterprise applications.
- Create and manage Oracle database objects (tables, views, indexes, sequences) and manage large datasets efficiently.
Database Optimization and Performance Tuning
- Analyze and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL code to improve performance and scalability.
- Implement and maintain indexing strategies and partitioning to optimize large datasets.
- Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues, ensuring that the database environment performs optimally.
Database Design and Architecture
- Work closely with architects and other developers to design scalable and efficient Oracle database solutions.
- Implement data models and schema designs based on business requirements and ensure consistency and integrity of data.
- Design and implement backup, recovery, and replication strategies for disaster recovery.
Data Integration and ETL Processes
- Develop ETL processes to integrate Oracle databases with other data sources, including data migration from legacy systems.
- Create data pipelines and automate data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) for reporting and analytics purposes.
- Work with business analysts to understand data integration requirements and implement efficient solutions.
Testing and Debugging
- Conduct thorough unit and integration testing of database components to ensure quality and stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with database queries, performance, and data integrity.
- Ensure that all database code is fully tested and meets business requirements before deployment.
Collaboration and Documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that Oracle database solutions integrate seamlessly with other application layers and IT systems.
- Document all database designs, procedures, and configurations for future reference and compliance.
- Provide training and support to end-users and team members on database-related processes.
Continuous Improvement and Best Practices
- Stay updated on the latest Oracle technologies, database trends, and best practices.
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to database systems, tools, and processes.
- Ensure adherence to security standards and compliance with data protection regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience as an Oracle Developer, with hands-on experience in PL/SQL and Oracle database management.
- Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and developing database applications.
- Experience with Oracle performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
- Familiarity with Oracle tools such as SQL*Plus, TOAD, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, and Oracle Database administration.
- Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, including clustering, replication, and partitioning.
- Experience with Oracle Application Express (APEX) is a plus.
- Knowledge of database design, data modeling, and normalization techniques.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
- Experience with Oracle Cloud, Oracle RAC, or Oracle Exadata is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and clearly document processes.

- Certifications (preferred):
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) in PL/SQL or Oracle Database.
- Oracle Cloud Certification.
- ITIL Foundation Certification (a plus).
