About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced eStar FileNet Developer to join our team. As an eStar FileNet Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of content management solutions using FileNet and eStar technologies. You will work with business and technical teams to implement document management systems, optimize workflows, and ensure smooth integration with enterprise applications. Your expertise in FileNet and eStar development will be key in enhancing business processes and ensuring efficient document management solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
FileNet Development and Customization
- Design, develop, and deploy content management solutions using IBM FileNet and eStar technologies.
- Customize FileNet P8 and eStar components such as document classes, workflows, and security settings to meet business requirements.
- Develop and integrate FileNet applications to ensure seamless document management and workflow automation.
- Implement document processing and routing solutions, including document capture, indexing, and automated actions.
Workflow Design and Automation
- Design and develop custom workflows in FileNet to automate document management processes.
- Leverage eStar and FileNet Workflow Engine to create automated solutions for document routing, approval processes, and archiving.
- Build custom workflow solutions to improve business process efficiency, including dynamic routing, task assignments, and document version control.
System Integration and API Development
- Integrate FileNet with other enterprise systems (CRM, ERP, or external databases) to enhance document sharing and management capabilities.
- Develop and implement APIs and services to facilitate communication between FileNet and other systems.
- Use FileNet Web Services and REST APIs for external integration, providing seamless data flow and document management across platforms.
FileNet Administration and Support
- Configure and maintain FileNet repositories, content engines, and databases for optimal performance.
- Ensure security and compliance by configuring user access, roles, and permissions in FileNet environments.
- Provide ongoing support for FileNet solutions, troubleshooting issues, and resolving defects to ensure high availability and reliability.
Testing and Quality Assurance
- Perform thorough testing of FileNet applications and workflows to ensure they meet business requirements and function as expected.
- Collaborate with QA teams to identify and resolve any issues during the testing phase.
- Maintain testing environments, including document repositories and workflow processes, to simulate real-world conditions.
Documentation and Reporting
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for FileNet applications, workflows, and integrations.
- Provide comprehensive user guides, system manuals, and technical documentation for both business users and IT teams.
- Prepare regular reports on system performance, user adoption, and process improvements.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in FileNet and eStar technologies.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and propose enhancements to improve system performance, document management efficiency, and business workflow automation.
- Assist in upgrading and migrating FileNet solutions to newer versions, ensuring seamless transition and minimal business disruption.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in FileNet development, including hands-on experience with FileNet P8 and eStar.
- Proven expertise in developing, deploying, and customizing FileNet-based solutions.
- Familiarity with IBM FileNet Content Engine, FileNet Workflow, and eStar integrations.
- Experience with document management, workflow automation, and enterprise content management (ECM) systems.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of FileNet architecture, document management, and workflow solutions.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or C# for custom development.
- Experience with FileNet APIs, Web Services, REST APIs, and eStar integrations.
- Strong understanding of databases, SQL, and data management practices for FileNet content stores.
- Knowledge of J2EE, WebLogic, or other application servers used with FileNet.
- Familiarity with enterprise integration tools and techniques, such as MQ, ETL, and LDAP.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in FileNet environments.
