About the role
The Sr. Commercial Manager at Igloo will be instrumental in strengthening and expanding Igloo’s presence as a leading provider of digital insurance solutions in Southeast Asia. With a dual focus on managing existing client relationships and sourcing new business partners, this role ensures that Igloo’s innovative insurance products meet the evolving needs of businesses and consumers. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to deepen relationships with current partners while actively identifying and onboarding new partners to drive Igloo’s mission of making insurance accessible and affordable for all.
Job Responsibilities
Account Management & Partner Relationship Growth
- Serve as the primary point of contact for existing clients and partners, nurturing relationships to maximize satisfaction, loyalty, and retention.
- Understand each partner's goals and collaborate closely with them to identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and expanding their use of Igloo’s digital insurance solutions.
- Work with internal teams, including product, marketing, and compliance, to ensure seamless delivery of Igloo’s services and a positive partner experience.
- Regularly assess partner performance, providing insights and solutions to enhance their experience with Igloo’s offerings and drive mutual growth.
- Lead renewal discussions and negotiate terms that support both partner objectives and Igloo’s commercial goals.
New Business Development & Partner Sourcing
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, focusing on strategic partnerships that align with Igloo’s mission to make insurance accessible, affordable, and inclusive.
- Conduct market research to build a pipeline of potential partners who can benefit from Igloo’s digital insurance solutions, such as lifestyle protection, e-commerce insurance, and device protection.
- Present Igloo’s product suite to prospective clients, demonstrating how solutions like device protection, extended warranties, and loan protection can add value to their business and customers.
- Collaborate with prospective partners to structure agreements and negotiate terms that create long-term value and growth for both parties.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and evolving customer needs to guide business development strategies.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Commercial to align on commercial strategies that support both existing and new partnerships.
- Coordinate with Igloo’s product, operations, marketing, and finance teams to tailor solutions that meet partner requirements, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance.
- Engage in cross-functional projects that enhance Igloo’s ability to deliver seamless and effective insurance solutions across various markets.
- Facilitate smooth communication and project coordination between departments to support partner onboarding and optimize ongoing account management.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Track and evaluate performance across both account management and new business initiatives, using data-driven insights to optimize strategies and decision-making.
- Prepare and deliver regular updates to the Head of Commercial, highlighting partnership growth, key achievements, challenges, and emerging opportunities.
- Establish and monitor KPIs related to account management and business development, ensuring alignment with Igloo’s broader commercial and strategic objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; experience in the insurance, fintech, or tech industries is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in account management, business development, or sales, with a demonstrated focus on client relationship management and business growth.
- Deep understanding of the insurance industry and digital solutions, ideally with experience in insurtech or related fields.
- Proven track record in managing and expanding client relationships, as well as in identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with an ability to connect effectively with diverse audiences.
- Highly collaborative, with experience working across teams and departments to deliver integrated solutions.
- Strong organizational skills and an analytical mindset, with the ability to handle multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
