The Accounting Associate is responsible for monitoring the schedule of payments by checking on the details and records of payments that are due to be made to different creditors. The position safe keeps the records of business debts and payments to be made for the services availed from other service providers or entities and other corporate obligations. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

1.  Provides general accounting and reporting services to the regional Supply and Trading Finance organizations in Asia Pacific that may include but are not limited to:
•  Settles payables and send out invoices to 3rd party counterparties, affiliates and intercompany entities after interpreting contracts and validating important and required information against necessary documents.

•  Works with the front office and/or middle office to update and correct pricing and quantities in Trading System (SRA).
•  Enters accrual entries into SAP based on invoices or other necessary documents that are not yet received in time for the month-end close.
•  Accounts for all associated secondary costs to physical transactions.
•  Accounts for other instruments used to hedge company price in SRA and SAP.
•  Prepares forecast of cash payments and receipts reporting.
•  Performs month-end reconciliations including GL Account reconciliation, SRA-SAP reconciliation, inventory reconciliation and address Interco imbalances.
•  Reconcile strategies and providing preliminary P&L analysis.

•  Supports and provide comments for the balance sheet accounts reconciliation including trace and escalation.
•  Supports SOX controls and testing, and internal/external audit requirements.
•  Handles ad-hoc inquiries from In-country Finance, Front/Middle Office as well as counterparties (3rd Party, Affiliates or Intercompany).

In this role, you’re expected to:

• Performs Payroll accounting related entries, validation and reports, as required
• Responsible for the security and confidentiality of sensitive data that will be handled.
• Responsible and accountable for general ledger and reconciliation along with responding to any Finance related queries, as well as any proofing related queries.
• Accountable for ensuring HRSS is compliant with all local regulatory and legal requirements related to the accounting transactions posted
• Responsible for keeping up to date knowledge on key HR and GL applications required to assist in processing payroll GL.
• Responsible for working in partnership with Citibank’s vendor (as applicable) on any payroll GL related initiatives and errors whilst processing payroll.

• Ensures the operating manual procedures are reviewed and updated yearly and when necessary.
• Partner and support Citibank’s HR partners, business heads and designated authorized officers to deliver efficient and high level of customer service.
• Strictly adheres to Risk & Control policies and procedures (such as but not limited to: adherence to secure workplace guidelines, mandatory compliance training and identification/improvement of key risks areas) and reports possible gaps/ breaches. Ensure internal controls are in place.
