As a General Ledger Accountant, you will handle and manage the full set of books, ensure timely accounting closing and management reporting. 

You will be expected to do:  

1. Bank Statement Management 

• Perform daily bank statement download, analyze transactions and create journal entries for bank allocation 

• Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliation 

1. Fixed Assets Management 

• Responsible for fixed assets creation and modification 

• Execute month end depreciation 

• Perform reconciliation between asset module and general ledger 

1. Intercompany Management 

• Prepare monthly Intercompany Reconciliations and data analysis 

• Send out Intercompany confirmation forms to affiliates 

1. Accruals and Prepayments 

• Run memorized entries for existing Prepayments and Accruals 

• Identify and analyze transactions to be appropriately posted as Accruals and Prepayments 

1. Supports Closing and Reporting activities and perform accounting procedures related to Banking, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Accruals and Prepayments. 

2. Posting of month end journals entries and requests 

3. Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and propose adjusting entities, if any. 

1. Provide audit supports and answer audit queries pertaining to processes handled 

1. Ensure implementation and compliance with general accounting, audit and internal requirements 

You may also be asked to:  

• Assist the General Ledger Leads and Manager on daily and ad hoc assignments 

Your responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

• Leads and oversees the group monthly close and global consolidation of actuals, ensuring complete and accurate financial in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). 
• Manages and reviews close activities including journal entries and account reconciliation. 
• Leads and reviews monthly consolidation and financial reporting, including investigation and clearing of intercompany balances, closing and consolidation errors. 
• Overall accountable in the compilation of the consolidated balance sheet, income statement, statement of cash flows and other executive reporting requirements.
• Responsible in the review, analysis and presentation of the Group Cashflow and Working Capital to the CFO and the submission of the corresponding BOD slides.
• Leads the submission of the Financials required in the Group Audit and the compilation of all the audit requirements associated with the FS.
• Works with cross functional teams in addressing challenges, issues, and risks in the closing process to ensure timely and accurate books closing.
• Leads the debrief meeting to discuss closing issues with respective teams with the objective of keeping the best practices and improving on and addressing the gaps.
• Overall accountable in the tracking and monitoring of the GL and Consolidation KPIs and the presentation to the Group Finance Director and CFO
• Provides guidance to all subsidiaries to ensure consistency in consolidated financial reporting and applications. 
• Leads the balance sheet justification to ensure accurate and complete representation of the financial position of the company’s consolidated balance sheet. 
• Drives process improvements and assists with system transformation projects.

The Job                                                                     

The Project Management Leader will work closely with the Process Excellence Manager, undertaking a pivotal role in overseeing the execution of impactful initiatives and projects within the Finance department. This role demands hands-on management, leveraging expertise in both project management and change management.

• Create and execute project work plans by defining scope, resource allocation, key milestones, quality standards, risk assessment, and deliverables. Adapt plans as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements effectively.
• Establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, internal and external resources, and providing regular project status updates.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
• Resolve and/or escalate issues promptly as needed.
• Set clear success metrics, effective follow-up measures, and diligently track progress.
• Support change initiatives and continuous improvements. Creating projects to deliver changes across global support finance.  

The GL Accountant will be responsible for handling and managing the full set of books, ensuring timely accounting closing and management reporting. This position will report directly to the GL Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for monthly consolidation package; including consolidation proofing schedules, Cashflow forecasting, budgeting and financial reporting
• Review statutory and management financial statements for group and subsidiaries
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, IFRS and Companies Ordinance requirements
• Assist in reviewing internal control procedures

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Preparation and Presentation of consolidated financial statements 

• Prepare group consolidated financial statement and reports to internal and external stakeholders. 

• Understand financial statements and be able to explain to management any variances vs prior periods. 

• Coordinate with other finance functions in monthly closing process to ensure closing timeline is met.  

• Perform month end closing activities including but not limited to bank/cash reconciliation, timely and accurate processing of journal entries (Fixed Asset Depreciation, Intangible Asset Amortization, Prepayment Expense, Payroll entries and other adjustments and corrections as needed), Intercompany balances reconciliation. 

• Perform balance sheet reconciliation and analyses of balance sheet accounts. 

• Ensure accounting transactions comply with international standards. Give advice on best practice of accounting for complex transactions. 

Managing annual audit process 

• Liaise with external auditors and assist in annual audit process for the Group and for key subsidiaries in Asia, ensure that audits are completed in timely and satisfactory manner. 

Managing changes and improvements to internal finance processes 

• Be involved in finance process and system improvement projects, representing general ledger function and giving support including but not limited to cleaning up data for system upload, balance re-classifications or corrections, user acceptance testing. 

Managing Team 

• Manage a team of 6 General Ledger accountants. 

• Define KPIs for each finance function to monitor productivity, efficiency, quality and customer satisfaction.
