The finance analyst is responsible for collection, organization, interpretation, analysis, recording, documentation and dissemination of of simple to mid-complex financial data sets. The candidate will process and reconcile bank, accounts receivable, payables and general ledger related transactions with a strong focus on accuracy, timeliness, customer service and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will provide support and be part of the UK Finance team and will report to the Bank Reconciliation and Accounts Payable manager in London.

• Reconcile weekly bank reconciliations for different currency bank accounts within Arch Insurance Europe including Arch Syndicate
• Input, record, process, balance and maintain receipts for Arch Insurance Europe companies.
• Prepare reinsurance reconciliation.
• Assist in quarter close process and annual audit.
• Work closely with the Credit Control department in respect of identifying receipts especially non-bureau receipts.
• Ensure accurate recording and maintenance of accounting transactions.
• Liaise with internal teams to investigate and analyze regarding any receipt queries and ensure timely clearing down of suspense/control clearing cash accounts.
• Execute daily operational activity and document management.
• Perform financial analysis, reconciliation and generate key reports.
• Perform daily validation processes to ensure accuracy and compliance .
• Perform simple to mid-complex financial analysis, reconciliations, generate reports.

It is key to be flexible as the tasks may change and be added to. It will be key to contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes and it will be expected that the analyst will bring ideas to the Arch team by utilizing their expertise or previous experience.

• Process bureau settlement into IRIS and process cash allocation.
• Create front sheets and process cash allocation for non-bureau premium .
• Join special projects within Finance to be cross-functional
• Communicate directly with Underwriters and Brokers for complex accounts.

Responsibilities

▪ Assisting in the origination and execution of specialty lending transactions for domestic, foreign, public, and private entities
▪ Performing comprehensive financial, actuarial, and mathematical modeling and analysis
▪ Participating in and completing a thorough due diligence process on customer financial, business, and actuarial profiles, including, a thorough evaluation of key transaction risk factors
▪ Assisting in the write-up of internal financing memoranda
▪ Managing and executing tasks encompassing valuation, accounting, and other technical issues with regard to transactions
▪ Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the financial evolution of each portfolio company and on the overall lending book
▪ Assisting in various other tasks related to transactions, investor relations, and fundraising

▪ Educated to an undergraduate degree level or higher in a related field
▪ Excellent corporate finance, accounting, and financial modeling skills
▪ Proven full-time work experience in a related field (minimum 3 years)
▪ Insurance experience is a plus and Experience with Small Business Enterprise Loans is preferred

▪ Able to produce client-ready written materials and present these in a measured clear and articulate way
▪ Results-oriented individual with excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills
