About the Role:
We are looking for a detail-oriented IT Analyst (Portfolio Resource) to join our team. This role focuses on managing and optimizing resource allocation across IT projects and programs within the portfolio. You will collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to ensure the efficient utilization of resources, identify gaps, and support strategic decision-making to meet organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Resource Management
- Monitor and manage resource allocation across the IT project portfolio to ensure optimal utilization.
- Identify resource availability and skill requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to resolve resource conflicts and address capacity challenges.
Capacity Planning
- Develop and maintain resource capacity plans to align with portfolio priorities and timelines.
- Analyze resource data to forecast future demand and address gaps proactively.
- Provide recommendations on hiring, upskilling, or reallocation to meet portfolio needs.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Generate and maintain reports and dashboards to track resource utilization, capacity, and productivity.
- Analyze trends and performance metrics to support data-driven decision-making.
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with project managers, department heads, and leadership to align resource planning with organizational goals.
- Facilitate regular resource planning meetings and updates.
- Support communication between stakeholders to manage expectations and ensure resource alignment.
Process Optimization
- Identify and implement process improvements in resource planning and management.
- Support the adoption of tools and systems that enhance visibility into resource availability and utilization.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in resource management, IT portfolio management, or a related role.
- Familiarity with resource planning tools and software (e.g., Smartsheet, Planview, Microsoft Project).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
- Knowledge of project and program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Basic understanding of IT systems and workflows.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and senior stakeholders.
- Certifications (preferred):
- Project Management Professional (PMP).
- Certified Resource Management Professional (CRMP).
- ITIL Foundation Certification.
