We are looking for a competent IT Help Desk Technician to provide fast and useful technical assistance on computer systems. You will answer queries on basic technical issues and offer advice to solve them.

An excellent Help Desk Technician must have good technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer-oriented and patient to deal with difficult customers.

The goal is to create value for clients that will help preserve the company’s reputation and business. The ideal candidate will be a IT Help Desk Technician that is a professional and provides technical support and assistance to internal IT customers, whether on the phone or in person.

What will you do?

• Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email
• Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
• Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers
• Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
• Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel
• Provide accurate information on IT products or services
• Record events and problems and their resolution in logs
• Follow-up and update customer status and information
• Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
• Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures

The IT Helpdesk Technician be part of a highly technical engineering team responsible for 
architecting and delivering solutions. This role will be a unique blend of hands on delivery, solutions design and architecture.

The IT Specialist’s role is to ensure proper computer and software operation 
and to assist end users when problems occur, so that end users can accomplish business tasks. This includes receiving, prioritising, documenting and actively resolving end user requests. There are a number of technologies that we envision being part of our future, or valuable skills that will make understanding our existing architecture easier. These include
Problem resolution may involve the use of diagnostic and tracking tools as well as a requirement for the individual to give in-person, hands-on Help desk assistance.

• Help Desk Requests
• Field and prioritise requests from end users in a prompt and courteous manner
• Work to resolve them. 
• Escalate requests when required, to the appropriately skilled IT Level 1 or 2 resource.
• Track and document the Help 
• Desk request following the process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made and actions taken, through to final resolution.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis for Help Desk requests.
• Apply diagnostic tools to aid in troubleshooting as and when required.
• Perform post-resolution follow up to ensure user satisfaction and proper problem resolution.
• Learn appropriate software and hardware utilised by TSA. This is inclusive of but is not limited to

• Assisting Systems or Database Administrators with IT requests, as and when required.
•  Assisting the Facilities Manager with co-ordinating the installation and maintenance of IT related office facilities.

About the job

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, this TEAM LEADER role will support the Facilities department on a day-to-day basis by taking care of the property(s) assigned to the Store, and help ensure that the store has the proper comprehensive service systems and teams (contracted and co-working) in place to deliver results, and keep our properties, buildings and supporting infrastructure in safe, working order, available and open for business.

Your assignment

• You grow and develop your functional and technical expertise to help the facilities team be the owner of the building, manage the assets, both building facilities and the store
• You support your manager in developing business results and goals, especially in life cycle costing and annual budgeting. Assure the reliability and cost-effective operations of various facilities whiles controlling the build-up of the maintenance cost
• Conduct scheduled and reactive inspections on the property listed equipment & systems
• You review and ensure that facilities comply with any Risk/FM Audit (SecCheck) and work through practical ways with your manager to comply and meet the target
• Ensure SOPs are in place and that compliance documentations are available at all times and that the CAFM/CMMS system holds all data and files online
• Ensure all works minimise disruption, risk and inconvenience to coworkers, visitors and coworkers. And if there are any casualties, investigate, and take corrective actions to overcome technical problems to further develop and implement solutions, trouble shoot on day-to-day operational problems of facilities and building
• Ensure that energy saving procedures are identified and implemented to minimise cost and waste
• Ensure that the planned preventive maintenance program is updated and in order, and that vendor performance is recorded and documented
• Ensure all vendor invoices are correct before any PO or Work Order is released for payment
• Support the functions business plan, keep it updated and ensure that all approved plans are executed in an efficiently and timely method. Support the costing, project management and implementation of any base building work changes
• Ensure that our buildings and property are compliant to statutory legal requirements and that IKEA’s rules and regulations are adhered to. Perform periodical quality control inspections to ensure adherence to company specifications and standards
